Hi, i'm having the same problems like said at this -now closed- post:

serato.com

"Error updating firmware, ERROR#:-1"

The only difference is that i'm on Win7-64 / SP1

Now a quick list of other bugs:

- When setting a hot cue and recalling it gives sometimes a huge peak that triggers the limiter and screw up the mix, most of the time on pads from 5 to 8, but sometimes on the others too.

- Just in the middle of a session, twitch disconnects from the system itself -oh and all my stuff is plugged in a ups- and reconnects, stopping all playing decks.

- Sometimes i'm just forced to disconnect the twitch before launching Itch, because it won't recognize it, or it will, but nothing happens when loading a track on a deck, the track doesn't even load properly.

I ran through all the technical manipulations you can imagine, even reinstalling Windows to have a dedicated serato platform without any other thing installed nor connected.
I'm really pissed-off at this piece of hardware, which was so promising at first, and which is becoming more and more of a real PITA each and everyday.
Done every check possible, be it about checking usb latency to chose the best, removed all files from library etc... etc...
And the fact that novation guys just stay mute regarding the problems encountered by twitch customers make me wish i never had bought this and saved my money for a real trustful controller with proper support.

Moreover, spring is now here for almost one month, and still no update to serato DJ ? I know it's not child play to add controller support but hey, it's your job at keeping customers happy and make them feel thay can count on their hardware and software providers no ?

Instead of forcing firmware update via itch, why not giving a manual updater to tech-savvy users ? I don't know who is to be blamed, as i can see there is good communication from your part, but not on the novation side, who are behaving like twitch is now out of support.

I wish i shouldn't have to switch to another software/hardware combinaiton, but do you really believe i will take the risk to go at a gig and have my twitch freezing in the middle of my set ?
I'm sure i'm far from being alone in that case, and those issues are just unacceptable, and gets far more frustrating than rewarding.
This post isn't a troll, do not mistake it, if you think there is something more i can do to solve that, welcome !
But please, do not make me rerun through all you said to do in other related posts, as it's already done and it doesn't work, the problem still remains.

Hope you will come up with a working solution -a real solution, not a poor workaround- so i won't have to go through all the hassle of switching from one product to another, but if not, i will do without any kind of hesitation, as i need something i can rely on, not a "plug and pray" kind of stuff.
Thanks for taking the time to read that.

Oh, and last thing, why did Itch installed Numark NS6 32-bit drivers on my computer ? As i'm on a 64-bit Win7 install, hence i cannot even uninstall them, and moreover i never ever owned an NS6 nor connected one to my system ? One more issue it seems...

Having similar issues. Itch said a firmware update was available while doing stuff with file management . Without thinking I hit OK and it updated. Then it powered off and completely froze Win7 64 (it does this if you pull out the USB cable when in Itch too). After powering off my PC and rebooting I ran Itch again and all was well. Then suddenly I get flickering on the LED pads for a short while and then it stops. Now today I was in the middle of a mix in VirtualDJ and the Twitch just suddenly powers itself off and reconnects. But I lose all control and have to restart VDJ.

Stability is a MUST! I cannot work with equipment that is not 100% reliable. Please sort this out!

Hi RKprodZ,

Unfortunately with the first request, i can't help with as we don't make the firmware. That is handled by Novation. Give them a call if you haven't already.

"- When setting a hot cue and recalling it gives sometimes a huge peak that triggers the limiter and screw up the mix, most of the time on pads from 5 to 8, but sometimes on the others too."

Have you tried running a DPC trace report? I'd like to see what is causing you this problem.

Have you tried optimising your computer? - serato.com

"- Just in the middle of a session, twitch disconnects from the system itself -oh and all my stuff is plugged in a ups- and reconnects, stopping all playing decks."

Does it show up as a device on your computer? It sounds like driver related.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't happy that the software hasn't become available for you yet. There is an upcoming release planned very shortly as promised within the spring timeframe.

In response to your last post, the NS6 drivers were included as part of the installers.

Hi Matt, thanks for answering.
I'll run another DPC trace and attach the results, this weekend, and try to reproduce the issue by telling more precisely in which conditions the peaks are occuring.

For the optimization part, yes, i dedicated a windows intsallation to DJING, be it with services, disabling ACPI, disabling all the fancy cpu-hungry windows GUI stuff etc, keeping only the minimum software footprint so i can be sure there's no side-effects from other software/drivers/hardware.

I'll also double check again with novation guys for the self-extinction/disconnection/freezing problem.

For the NS6 related part of my message, i perfectly understand the drivers are bundled with the software install, but not the reason why these are installed on my computer.
It seems like this comes from an install package problem.
If all the bundled drivers were to be installed -and that is pretty much illogical- it should be the 64-bits versions on my system, not the 32-bit.
And, as i said already there's only the NS6 one, not all the other bundled drivers that can be found in [Base folder]\Itch\Drivers installer.
I see no reason for this to be installed as i never ever owned nor connected an NS6 to my computer, i only own a twitch, so how the hell the software installer believed that it has to install that driver, and in its 32-bit flavor, which obviously wouldn't work on my install.

Hi, I just saw that Serato DJ 1.2 is out, and there is still no Twitch support, and when i go to the hardware compatibility page, surprise ! What was initially scheduled for release in spring timeframe is now scheduled for summer !!??
Enough with being scammed all the time by hardware manufacturers and software companies that are very quick to take the money but totally unable to fulfill the moral contract that tie them to their customer base, i'm fed-up being bullshitted either by novation or serato.
Don't take it for you Matt P, as i appreciate the time you took to consider my issues, but i think the company you work for is taking the wrong way in many aspects, and is just considering customers as if they were "walking wallets".
I was believing that i made the right choice using itch for my setup after having used other software, but i made a big mistake doing so. Now i'm gonna switch to a real professional solution.
Consider my issue is solved, i'm gonna sell this overrated crap twitch hardware, buy a more reliable controller i can trust and switch to Traktor Pro, as the guys at NI at least know how to design a reliable piece of software for professional use that isn't tied to hardware we cannot have a real support for, be it from an hardware or software point of view.
Thanks for the wasted time and money. Let me ask a question, how long and after how many lost customers will you consider to do business in a professional manner ? It's just a shame !

Hi RKprodZ,

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way man. Working here you see all the effort and thought that goes into this product, and that there are many things to consider. Serato is actually a small company made up of dj's that do care about the way people use the product we make. Getting things out and working in a stable way is always a priority which is why its worth waiting. But, if you feel that our competitor offers a better option. We wish you the best, and we'll be here if you decide to come back to our platform.

Best
