why ?

I've been hoping for some update like this also as a Sixty One owner but I don't think it's gonna happen. However what would be an even better solution is that if Rane/Serato made a new SSL-based midi controller like the Denon HC1000s and Dicers. Both of those options are good I suppose but there isn't any SSL dedicated midi controller out that would do everything well: cues, samples, loops and effects.

I don't understand why Serato doesn't have something like Traktor Kontrol X1 and F1. I'm sure these Traktor midi controllers are selling well and they just released a new stand solution for them also. Yes I know I can use X1 with Serato and I probably will buy it soon but I'd still rather buy something with native mapping to SSL functions.

Fact is that Sixty One is not a very good deal and a desirable mixer at the moment especially as Traktor Kontrol Z2 is out there for half the price of Sixty One. I bought my Sixty One june 2012 as I was looking for my first SSL setup and I wasn't willing to spend over 2k on a mixer but I probably wouldn't advice anyone now to buy it. I'm not saying it's a bad mixer by any means though, I quite like it for my own needs, but it's just not a very good purchase for someone in the market for a new mixer now. A new dedicated Serato midi controller might help in this.

I don't find the joysticks useful at all. I'm used to line/phono type switches so having all sides equal off is just bizarre to me. I wish there was some way to make the joysticks act more like a traditional transform switch.

the joystick on the 57 is completely adjustable---they can be used just like the 'line/phono (transform) switch.
to this day i still practice my transforming with the joysticks. there great!
