did you try setting the beatgrids?

if the sample you are trying to play doesn't have or show a BPM, it means that it hasn't been analyzed & the beatgrids have not been set, which ultimately means there is no information for SeratoDJ to sync your sample with whatever it is you're playing. Not all samples you want to use will have a beatgrid & for some samples it may too difficult for SDJ to analyze (natural drumming, acapellas, etc) & determine tempo.
For example - one-shot drum hits will not be able to sync. Spoken words will not sync either, nor will Little Johns "YEEEEAHH!" sample, unless they have a detectable BPM (tempo) for SeratoDJ to sync with. You can still manually adjust the pitch, start point, etc. BUT you will have to make sure you are dropping them in time like the good ol' days of DJing, pre-digital, as SeratoDJ will not quantize the sample & 'snap' it into place like you probably want it to.

Hope this helps champ ;) good luck with it

And YES - make sure you are using Smart Sync also.
