After updating Serato Itch for Twitch to v2.2.2 and having three or four crashes in the software, the device is no longer recognized, and looks dead to me. Not even the red touch strips are lit red when i plug it, and no other light is on. I have already tried in other computers with the same result. It was bought it in april 2012 in usa, so is still in warranty, but i'm in Chile now. Please let me now if you where able to solve this issue. Thanks!.

Hello fellow chilean with a dead Twitch! Mine still power up the lights...

Try connecting it to a powered usb port, the lights should light up...

And changing the usb cable, that's basically what Novation would tell you. But you have warranty still, so contact them!

Thanks for your support selkie, but i have already connected twitch to a variety of usb ports and change the usb cable with the same result, no power on the unit, no light on. Every time i pray for it to come alive, but no, still dead. I have created a case in Novation support (Case: 182696), but there's no answer from them.

Looks like a fuse is broken inside the unit.

Did you try a POWERED usb hub?

Yes, sure. I've allways connected to powered usb 2.0 ports, there's no power issue with the ports. The unit is not receiving any power from the port, no matter where is connected. Thanks again selkie!.

Hey Enrique D,

Sorry to hear that Enrique D, but it definitely seems like a hardware issue due to a faulty TWITCH.

One last thing you could try is re-installing your computer's USB drivers. You should be able to find them on your computer manufacturer's website.

If this doesn't help, unfortunately, given everything that you have done, we would come to the conclusion that it is most likely that your hardware has indeed become faulty. This is not something we take lightly and we always exhaust every possible avenue before reaching this point. In this case, you have already done most of the work yourself.

Let me know if the USB driver re-installation helps. If not, I'm afraid my advice would be to continue getting in touch with Novation to explore service/return options.

Thanks,
Brian K

Hi Brian K,

Unfortunately I have tried to install the latest USB drivers and software on more than one occasion and in more than one machine. It's definitely a hardware failure.

I contacted support people from Novation: Chris Ready and Eddie Judd, about my case (Case 183 077 "Twitch Dead") and they ask me for the proof of purchase, device administrator data of my pc and device serial number. After that, tell me I have two options:

The first option is to send the device back to the United States to validate the warranty. The second option is to bring the device to local distributor in Chile (where I live) for a repair at my own cost.

I will contact the local Novation distributor in Chile: Fancy Music, located in Luis Thayer Ojeda 576, Providencia Santiago Santiago Chile +56-2-8286600 to see if they can somehow support me with my problem.

Additionally I am asking people to Novation support the exact address where I do shipping for the device.

You don't imagine how much I miss coming home to mix some music ...

I'll post the results of my progress.

Thanks for your support.

Waiting for Novation instructions for sending the dead twitch back to the U.S. for warranty to be valid. To do this I must have a valid address in the United States, from where to send and where to get the repaired equipment.

The local supplier for Chile "Fancy Music", also responded, but they would have to charge me the full repair.

In these cases there should be an international warranty, so that the local dealer can repair faulty devices where Novation haven't an established office, or to bear the cost of sending and receiving ...

I'll post the results of my progress.

Hey Enrique D.,

Thanks for keeping us updated!

I definitely agree there should be an international warranty to support customers globally in a fair and structured manner instead of paying the full repair cost at local dealers.

Definitely do keep us updated and good luck!

Thank you,
Brian K
