I am using Serato Intro with my Macbook (2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM) & a Denon MC2000.

I love the software but it is very harsh on my system - the CPU is overworked and the laptop regularly heats up to extreme temperatures (i.e. 80 - 95 degrees celcius). Last week, for the first time, my system crashed in the middle of a gig, which was really embarrassing.

What can I do to improve performance / prevent this from happening again? I disable Airport and all other applications before running Serato Intro. I have tried different latency settings, but no joy.

Will I have the same problems if I invest in Serato DJ? I am reluctant to spend $200 if this is the case.

Any advice would be appreciated
