I had a strange experience last night.
I was just checking out my equipment after a hard weekend and I put on a long mix I had done and recorded a couple of years ago. It starts off with Les Djinns and them moves into Cure and the Cause (Denis Ferrer) then through loads of other house stuff.
I decided to just set up my FX a bit better, because I tend to have one set up on the AUX Bus so I can swith in easily. I usually use Phaser or Flanger but with pretty mild settings.
Anyway, I started messing about with them and got some fantastic results. The high and low pass filters sounded great too. I realised that I just hadn't spent enough time messing with these when I first got the mixer around 6 months ago. It's a very very good mixer, with fantastic sound quality, but the FX aren't easy to use until you've familiarized with the mixer as a whole.
Anyway, if you are thinking of buying one and have worries about the FX I would recommend that you go for it. I'm delighted with this piece of kit even six months in.
