Ive just bought a new mac mini
1.5ghz
1gb Ram
80gb 5400rpm HD
80gb USB External (With all of my music on)
When running serato (1.4) I get a complete system crash after about 10mins and have to power off. There are no logs in library/logs folder. Im running at usb buffer 2 and screen refresh 60. Do you think this is too high? I don't get any usb dropouts so I thought it would be fine. Any ideas? Would having a USB HD running at the same time make some kind of difference? Thanks

Overheating is possible but I'd wager you have some bad/unseated ram if SSL is crashing regularily. SSL seems to be a pretty good ram tester...
Did you buy from Apple or a 3rd party?

Right, ive been testing. It's not the ram. I have run a few tests including the "apple hardware test" and its fine.
I am trying to record using my edirol UA25 soundcard at the same time. When I run ssl by itself its fine (so this is not a direct ssl problem)
Always happens after about 10 mins of recording (this is with audacity or any other recording software it doesn't matter)
Any ideas? Could it be too much usb usage for my mac?

Does the UA25 run fine by itself as well? Make sure you're using the most recent firmware and driver combination. Saying that, run software update and make sure your OS X version is updated as well.
Just FYI the Apple hardware test is not always accurate in my experience. Run it once and it will claim the ram is good; run it again and it'll claim there's a problem. The only real test is to try new ram... but at this point I'd say your ram is fine... the culprit is either the SSL driver or the UA25 driver. What you're experiencing is a kernel panic. That usually indicates a hardware problem or a problem with the drivers of the hardware.

I'll resolve this since it's not directly Scratch LIVE related.
But please keep us posted {^_^}
