I just got new needles and record cleaner to start archiving my vinyl and since I just got logic studio yesterday I was wondering if it would be best to record straight into logic pro or use a different program like audacity, which i had been doing. Thanks.

Shouldn't make any difference, I would use the program you are going to do the editing in (trimming, normalising etc.) that way it's one less step.

ok ... That makes sense. And is it better to record out of SSL or use the mixer as a soundcard with the utility? And would it make a difference if I go through the line in on my macbook pro or leave it through USB? I'm just trying to the cleanest sound so I can use these files to spin with later. Thanks again.

definitely use the USB, shouldn't make too much difference if you record through SSL or another app with the 57 as a soundcard. I would go for the other app, again it's one less step.
