Alesis MultiMix Users? Need some help (Ableton content)

I'm running Ableton Live 7 on one of my laptops (IBM ThinkPad w/ standard sound card) just headphone out and mic in. Question is, I'm running my 57SL using the Booth out at home which goes into Input 1 on my Alesis MultiMix. I'm assuming the USB connection from the Alesis to my laptop SENDS audio through the USB? In that case, I'm not getting audio from my 57 to Ableton. It seems like the Alesis isn't sending audio to my computer. I was under the assumption that this thing acts like a soundcard as well as a general mixer... that's what Guitar Center told me when deciding on what USB soundcard to get.
Anyone got suggestions? Am I doing something wrong. Both my Input and Output from my computer are set to use the default USB drivers when I plug in the Alesis.

Yea man, I set them both to use the Alesis USB drivers. When music is running on the turntables, I don't even see sound bars bouncing around in Ableton.
