What would be the ideal test for comparing the sound quality of the 57 and anoither mixer?

So I am thinking about putting together a comparison of the 57 against a few other high end mixers. These would be the Allen & Heath Xone 92 and the Ecler Evo5. I figured it would give a nice comparison of the 57 vs. Analog mixer as well as another high end digital mixer. I was thinking of the following:

1. Record a sample of a song from a standard 12 inch. All three mixers have balanced outputs which would feed my RME interface into Nuendo. Keep file in .wav format.

2. Record a sample of a song from a CD. All three mixers have balanced outputs which would feed my RME interface into Nuendo. Keep file in .wav format.

3. Record a sample of a song from in 320 MP3. The 57 would utilize its internal Serato interface while the others would use the SL-1.

Anything I am missing?

I'd definitely be interested in hearing the results of 1 and 2, but 3 I think we all know that the 57 will perform better simply because of the internal digital signal path. But yeah man, I've always wondered how the phono preamps of the 57 hold up technically in comparison to other top mixers. I'm sure great, since this is Rane we're talking about ;) still interesting nonetheless.

The 57s are pretty clean. I am wondering though, since mixers like the Ecler Evo 5 and the Korg Zero 4 support Tracktor scratch internally, would the sound quality be comparable to Serato through the 57. Sounds like another test in the works. Hmmm

Agreed 3 is not really a decent test as you are introducing the SL 1 as another variable.
