im running in a pc
asus
intel core i5 2.5ghz
6gb of ram
64bit service pack 1
external hard drive is WD my passport 2tb never beeen dropped i actually have it inside a hard case made for this hard drive specifically.
i defragmented both internal and external drives the pc is optimized for itch i only use it to dj. everything is set to performance and not looks all effects are off. i need to find a solution to this fast. since i have gigs every single weekend this month. thanks for all the help!

so what i did was reset the preferences and then deleted my serato folders and then i reset everything and it still showed that it was empty so i clicked to change the view from sideways to stack mode and stuff and then like magic the fx showed up again so now thats my solution for now untill u guys can figure out whats going on. it might be glitch or something but atleast now i can use my effects after playin around to make it show

Sorry to hear you are having this issue.
So are you able to get them to show every time when you toggle between the different view modes? Which mode do you find it works for?

well i toogle between them all until it shows. and then i put i back to the view like scratch live in the center going parrarel waveforms. toogling between views are the only solution i had found so far. im hopin the new software serato dj will have no main issues as this one.

I'm sorry about the late reply, i'm interested in knowing if you have had this problem resolve yet?
I would like to know if you have both a ScratchLIVE folder and a Serato folder on the external hdd?

i only have the _serato_ folder in my external. i dont have a scratch live folder. and i still have the same issue and now when i do use the effects sometimes it sounds hoorible like it was distorsion or static noises. so i have opted to stop using the effects as much as possible since its just been a big hassle and sometimes even makin the program crash for tryin to use them it would freeze the program and make it foreclose. im going to be doing some upgrades soon to my laptop increase the ram to 8GB from 6GB and install a SSD since i have all my music in the external HD anyways. and im hopin those upgrades will help to make the computer run and handle ITCH better.

I would like to know if you can try renaming your _Serato_ folder? Name it _Seratoold_ and let me know when it loads back up if you notice the effects run any better with a newly built folder.

is the same i done that plenty of times. i deleted the registry i unistalled it even re installed the whole OS and still the same thing. hasnt improved or changed. i followed every guide and tips n tricks in here and other forums and still the same havnt found a solution. and its not the laptop or computer because i tried it with orher ones and its the same outcome. no effects and have to toogle between the views to get them to show.

Ok, man it looks like you've done everything. Sorry to repeat the renaming thing, i see you've already mentioned that above.
I am unable to reproduce the issue here, I know the Effects architecture in the new Serato DJ is completely different so you won't have this issue in there.
If you adjust your buffer size do you find that makes any difference?

i havent tried that. but i mean even before usin it at all the effects arent working from the start. so idk what it might be.

maybe i can make a video if that helps in any way? to show start up of everything and how i basically start up my laptop n plug everything in and how the effects dont appear at first until i toogle the views or sometimes only one effect works and is always the left side in that case.

i took a video showing it itch running and displayin "EMPTY" aftet playin around between the toogles turning off and unpluggin the ddj s1 opened itch again and it finally showed the effects and i was able to select them.
