please how do you configure serato itch software when playing a track and you mistakenly load a track on the same side you are playing from.

To lock the playing deck from any accidental loading, go into the SETUP menu, and check the "Lock playing deck" button that is under "Playback".

Please how do i correct a bpm that is wrong on, for example if a song is originally 120bpm and its showing 140bpm i do i correct the bmp on itch.

It sounds like that song has an incorrectly set beatgrid.

You will need to edit the beatgrid of the song to tell ITCH its correct BPM. Information on editing beatgrids (and a lot more about beatgrids) can be found here > serato.com

All the answers to these questions can be found in the ITCH manual. I highly recommend you read it.

By "dj drops" are you talking about samples? Like playing samples in the sample player?

Even though this is from the ITCH 2.0 manual, it will work for all version of ITCH.

hi there, please i'm having a lil prob with my crates. Every time i drag my music to creat a subcrates it duplicates my music, for example; if i drag a1 onto a2 to creat subcrates it duplicates music in a2

please do you have an idea on how to rectify this.

You can not drag a song "out" of a crate and into a subcrate, because the subcrate is just a revised selection of what is inside the parent crate.

What ever songs you have in a subcrate will be in the parent crate.

If you drag A1 onto A2 to create a subcrate, then A2 will become the parent crate, and will contain all the songs from both A1 and A2.

You have a range of colour palettes you can use to colour code your tracks.

1. Launch Serato DJ.
2. Beside each SONG NAME you will see a little GREY box.
-- RIGHT-click this box, and the colour palette will pop up.
3. Choose a colour palette for the track.
4. Once you have chosen the colour the GREY BOX will change to that colour.

Mono v Stereo.

Imagine there is an actor moving across a stage from left to right.
If the audio signal was in stereo you would hear the footsteps go from the left speaker across to the right speaker.

If the audio signal was in Mono, you can hear the steps but you don't know if he is moving left to right or right to left.

Mono outputs can be great for club setups where mono amplifiers are being used.
Stereo outputs can be great for home use / hifi systems / active monitors.

please i'm having difficulties relocating my lost files. I have the files in my folder in my laptop but when i press the relocate botton it seems not to find the file and fix them. pls wohats going on.

Have you recently renamed the file directory name?

If you rename the files original name, Serato will not be able to locate it.
It will treat it as a new file.

Do you think this is your problem?

NO i didnt rename my files i created a folder for them

Try the following,

1. Launch ITCH.
2. Click the FILES button.
3. Navigate to the NEW folder you created for your music files.
4. Drag the folder onto the "RELOCATE LOST FILES" button.

ITCH should now scan that folder for lost files.

Please can you send me a snap shot of the crossfader settings, i need to see how it was set. i get confuse with the circle, i don't really know when it is set to slow or fast because of the black and white colour. I also notice that when mixing two songs and i am transiting to the next song, when i get to the middle the volume for the previous song should be fading down but i think it stays on the same volume.

Please explain further.

You can use the vinyl speed adjust as an "effect" when mixing, It really depends on how you mix and what you are trying to achieve.

Try the following,

1. Load a track to Deck 1.
2. Press Play.
3. Turn up the Vinyl Adjust Knob.
4. Press the PLAY button.
-- The deck will start to slow down.
5. Press the PLAY button again.
-- The deck will start to speed up and continue to play the tune again.

You can get way more creative then this, but its a starting point.

Time counter is not returning back to zero on the laptop
its not restarting but with the cdj its ok as that re starts.
Even if i reload tracks on the serato it won't play but on the cdj it plays.

hence i can't use one face of the serato, so please help.

Hi there i use serato dj 1.5 with my ddj s1, i just wanted to put this to your attention that when i set a cue point for a song and next time i replayed the same song the cue point disappeared, please can you tell me why and what do i do please to make sure that the cue point doesn't disappear on that particular song.

this usually happens when the file is locked (read only)

You can check in your library, if there is a lock symbol (looks like a padlock) then the file is write protected on your hard drive and thus the software can't store the cue points in it.

i have some files that are telling me read only with the key lock and as such the cue point will not store on the music file. how do i get raid of the key lock, cos when i do the ctl click button the key lock turns to blue and it doesn't erase it completely. pls i need an answer to this from the more experience support team.

Hey,

a yellow lock indicates that the file is write protected on your hard drive.
a blue lock is for Serato's own locking safety feature.
You can't get rid of the yellow lock from within Serato DJ


open windows explorer.
right click the file -> properties
un-check the "read only" checkbox

yes, the SL3 works with Serato DJ 1.6.
All you need to do is plug it in and update the driver and it should work.

my first guess is you are using a hard drive that is formatted in a windows format.

You need to make sure that your external hard drive is not formatted in NTFS file system in order for it to work on a mac.

The standard file system to use on Mac is HFS+


Mac's can't write to standard Windows hard drive format (NTFS), which is why you see the yellow lock on all files (NTFS is read only to Macs.)

Please read this guide:
serato.com
and make sure your hard drive is formatted in FAT32 if you want to use it with both a Windows and a Mac computer.

sure :-)

The DDJ S1 is a certified Serato DJ hardware so it will unlock the software on any computer while it is connected over USB.

You can download and install Serato DJ on any computer and use the one that you connect the DDJ S1 to.
For the DDJ S1, the license is built into the controller. :)
