How much more can you cut latency through software fixes to stop usb dropouts and tighten up the control?

I don't think this will have any positive impact for SSL, this has been doubted by the mods as well, therefore it would be nice s3k, if you could remove that part from the wiki. Thanks.

the "shell" mod does make a difference to the cpu load but not latency and is worth a go.

i c wel i have vista and just have notice that with a AMD DC 2.0 GHz processor and 4 Gb ram, on a Dell 531, USB buffer at 3, the usb dropouts are only once and a while. but with this kind of power how can i be getting any droputs at all with the buffer at 3? it boggles me. must be vista. i also run a firewire external so the load on the usb controller is minimal (only thing on USB is the ttm57).

I've been using my (Totally awesome) ScratchLive with my laptop (Intel Celeron 2.8Ghz, 2GB ram, XP) and even though it exceeds the recommended spec I still had some dropout issues, tried nearly everything in the forum help section, but still no joy, i was just about to submit a RATT report then i saw the wiki page and tried the usb tweak, it said to use the 1000 setting at your own risk but it worked great with me, but just to be safe i now use the 500. The shell mod didn't make a noticeable difference, but it's handy cos ScratchLive just loads up automatically on startup.

A pack of wild horses couldn't tear me away from the turntables now!!!!
