Ratings and Reviews of Various DJ Pools

DJ Special-T 1:43 AM - 26 March, 2008
I'm not sure if this has been address already, but I'm trying to find a good record pool to get my music from...I'm currently using Digiwaxx, hiphophits.net, and cicana.com, and promo only for some of my music. Those that subscribe to others please list and provide your own personal opinion of it...I'm particularly looking for DJs that subscribe to Direct Music Service or Exclusive Grooves (I am interested in those)...Thanks...

I use: www.8thwondercdpool.com

If you are broke like i am...for 10$ per month nothing beats this DJ Pool...1000 Tracks a month, and you have the 3 major music styles: urban-dance-pop
matt212 2:15 AM - 26 March, 2008
Whatever you do...don't join Exclusive Grooves. If you get it for free...cool, but if you gotta pay that $50, it's not even close to the cheaper ones. Hell, they can't even compare to Cicana which you already got.

Ive used Worksessions, Dj City and idjpool and I like idjpool the best
DjDilerius 3:19 AM - 26 March, 2008
Gotta give proprs to idjpool as well
dj_elite 4:24 PM - 26 March, 2008
so far i've only tried DJCity, i like it a lot though. the price is decent, the selection is good. so far my only complaint is that they go a little crazy with remixes but other than that its ok. plus they come with overviews built and cue points in them already- i DLed one at a gig the other day and I was ready to go.

i didn't know about 8thwondercdpool i might have to check that out when my three pre-paid months for DJCity run out.

8thwonder just updates their site this weekend, they now have, old school hiphop, Dj tools, and....VIDEOS!....but yes they do have a lot of 128, but with the new site it's suppose to become 192+ only

I actually exchanged emails with Paul today and he told me they're working with the labels to get the files with the highest posible bitrate (192+)....we'll see...

Although I can't go into detail on the forum now since I became a regional rep, but maybe IsaacJordan & DjDilerius can elaborate on more on www.idjpool.com.

All 320 Mp3's, Urban is definitely covered with some Inst. & Accapellas and probably more Dance and House than all the other pools combined.

Ooops, let me stop....

Rule Number 3 - Sorry,
DJ Special-T 8:44 PM - 27 March, 2008
Wow...Thx for the Comparison chart DJ_AL...THat's a good look...I wonder why DMS only allows one download for a single a month?
matt212 8:55 PM - 27 March, 2008
Regional rep Art?? Good shit right there.

BTW, I'm gladly paying the fee for iDJPool...it's worth it to me.
r_dub 9:57 PM - 27 March, 2008
just get dms and djcity its pretty much all you need....they compliment eachother perfectly
DJ Special-T 10:40 PM - 27 March, 2008
What do you guys know about digidj.co.uk?? They let you do a tour to DL 3 free tracks...They have some pretty good remixes on there along with new tracks. They may be an option as well..
CQuence 12:01 AM - 28 March, 2008
Yea my remixes are on both :)
r_dub 1:41 AM - 28 March, 2008
cquence shit is hot! so whats the deal with dms are they sticking to like more traditional like blends? like they dont accept mash right?

Again, it is like the episode of Cheers. I got a Title and NO fucking MONEY.

Dave knows I like to talk about things I like (Macs, Serato, etc) so he sent a stack of business cards to hand out to the local guys in my area. I was also very good friends with his Asst Pool Director back when I was a Asst. Pool director of a vinyl pool here in Michigan back in the day.

Hopefully, I'll get a beer and a lap dance from a stripper when I go to Chicago and hang out this summer _ LOL.

Dave and I go way back. I see his pool like the Techno scene back in the day, I didn't do either for the money.

DJ_X_Trodinaire 7:23 AM - 29 March, 2008
i just joined idjpool and try them out.
DJ Special-T 5:06 AM - 30 March, 2008
How you like them...DJ X??
DJ_X_Trodinaire 5:11 AM - 30 March, 2008
I got the VIP package 50$
I havent had time to go throught the songs but peeking in the Dance section it
seems to have similar tracks from my current record pool (vynil pool trying to convert to an mp3 pool)

i should have a better feedback next week.
DJ Sniffles 6:28 AM - 30 March, 2008

I use Franchise Record pool. Would anyone recommend me to do 8th wonder as well or would it just be redundant?
elf1962 6:44 PM - 7 May, 2012
Is ther a DJ Pool that also provides Video?

Also, if you have a lot of files 128 or 192 and you want to convert them to 320, check out Platinum Notes. I have converted all of my files and they work great.
DjWillKill 7:53 PM - 7 May, 2012
I've been having really good turn out with mymp3pool.com The quality of files ranges but 8 out of 10 files are great quality. They also have video and a throwback section where i can get some of the old hit i dont have. and its only 20 a month.

...and will sound no better. If anything, it will sound worse. This is a big no-no. You never transcode low bit-rate compressed files to a higher bit-rate compressed file.

This is covered in Serato's on FAQ section: serato.com
