I recently moved over to SSL, previously I used FS since version 1 (back when it came preloaded on a Sony Vaio from a small Dutch company).
Though I am more than happy with the improvements in sound quality & in particular tracking (welcome home spin-backs), I am missing one feature, the ability to display the iTunes category "My rating".
When digitizing large numbers of files, it's quick and easy to rate a song - I find it extremely useful to be able to re-arrange a crate or playlist based on the ratings. It's not a big issue once you are familiar with your tracks, but if you've just digitized a major batch of new tunes, it can be helpful.
Regarding "Pitch Correction"; personally I feel it's totally unneccesary - IMHO the beauty of SSL is that it recreates the feel and flow of the turntables. At the moment, the program is quite lean and I am worried about performance & reliability if it becomes too bloated.
For those who need "Pitch Correction", perhaps a CDJ would be more appropriate?

johnremix- try using a smart playlist in itunes. you can tell it to only display songs that you've rated 5 stars and so on. smart playlist are the best thing to come to itunes in a long time. i have one set to music modified in the last week, so i can always grab a hot new track without searching.

i think there should be a my rating in ssl as well-easier to know if a track is good even though you may not remember the artist and title

I absolutely need this feature. I won't be using SSL unless this feature is brought in.
In real life I have always marked my track lists on my CD's/Records, going to iTunes gave me that confort that I could still translate my B, B+, A-, A & A+ ratings into 1-5 cool little stars!
When I first started messing with serato (1.4) I remembered seeing the stars, but all of the sudden I don't see them anymore, did I dream this up? LOL

DJ BIS - Why don't you write your rating in the filename?
Another solution to this would be to have a crate that contains all your tracks but ranks them by the number of times they've been loaded in a deck, ie your most played track would be at the top.

both are interesting concepts. I have considered putting a B - A+ rating on the title tag, but I think its going to be a lot of extra work because of the number of files I would have to go through. I'll just have to create a few playlists.

Go into Itunes, and make 5 separate smart playlists. Set the criteria to "where my rating is 1 [later 2, 3, 4, 5]". You can label them B- through a so you will have them all grouped with each other.

problems is I am currently doing a variety of genres on a weekly basis, primarily:
House (With Sub-genres)
Trance (With Sub-genres)
Hip-Hop
R&B
Reggae
Reggaeton
Salsa
Merengue
Bachata
Cumbia
Vallenato
Etc.
I can't make 5 SPL's per genre. Ratings are very important for me. For now I may do a single SPL per genre listing 3 stars and above for each. My crates area is going to be very crowded, but I guess thats what it will take.

Yep. I still wish there was a way to use rating features in iTunes, or at the very least, convert them to a format that Serato can use, even if it is a development of their own.
Pretty please?
