DOES YOUR MIC CHANNEL SOUND WEIRD?

Why does my mic sound like it has some type of reverb on it? Is this just the "Rane" sound? I don't have any effects on, but it still sounds like a hall effect.I host allot of events where people want to sing or do poetry and they complain about it. Should I get a mic preamp? Anyone else have this problem?

mmm, i use a sure wireless mic and it sounds pretty good. The only thing I don't like is I can't turn it up very much. The difference between 1 and say 1.5 is crazy loud so I have to be careful not to hurt the crowds ears.

Kadilac, are you really 100% no effect is set on the aux? Aux/FlexFX/Mic share the same signal path (almost...) so adding effects to any of those will affect the others as well.

yeah, I'm sure. It's not something that really stands out like an effect. You only notice it if I have a person singing acapella or just speaking without music and you here a very slight reverb or echo, like the voice is being digitized not natural. I seen someone else mention it on another post. I'm going to try a better mic.

i only have ssl box. and i don't plug my mic into this box during shows b/c it's disastrous. feedback is horrible. i usually plug my mic into my mixer for shows or a mixing board.

The Mic input on the SL 1 is only really designed for sampling voice for scratching, the input on the 57 should be suitable for most applications.

I just ordered a mixing board to help with my problem, I hope it works.

Yeah. What's up with that? I use the mic "volume" at 2 and it's super hot already. hahaha
My wireless mic has a sensor to adjust it, but I shouldn't have to as it is on a "normal" range on it already.

Crazy I should see this....normally my mic sounds nice (check 1...lol) but last night at my gig it sounded like i was in a empty class room....I had no effects, flex efx or anything just sounded weird.

that's exactly what I'm talking about. It doesn't bother me, but when others use it they say "wrong with your mic?" I just bought a small mixing board and now it sounds perfect.

good job in getting that board. we just have to get more professional with our setups like concerts yo.
can't expect a mixer to do everything right, even though this is something that has to be fixed by Rane or whoever's responsible for it.
I got my 57 and will not dare use mic w/o the board based on past experiences with inputing to my main mixer.
