beginner question - no sound

Dear All,
Ive been working hard to be able to realize my dream, buy the ttm57sl...
I have connected my stanton 150 turntables to the 57sl (phono 1 & 3, rest being on line). I can calibrate the signals w nice rings, however i dont get any output for my mp3 that is playing. I can see the 1 and 3 lines are lit on the mixer, but
my Stanton turntables are on phone mode, linked to phono mode of the 57sl. for the output i use the aux out to my external amplifier aux in w (normal red n white cables).
Whenever I play i can only hear the highpitch noise.
Ive ran through the forum, but dont find any answer w the 57sl.

Your help would be greatly appreciated , im looking fwd to playing w it:)

Hey Jobinet

It sounds like you have the Line selector set to Analog. For each channels there is 4 Inputs. On the Left Channel Its A1 A2 D1 D2 and for the right channel A3 A4 D1 and D2. You have it selected to the Analog and it needs to be set to the digital, most likely D2 on the right channel and D1 on the left channel. If you want to play regular vinyl (not serato) select A1 on the left channel and A3 on the right channel.

Hope That Helps,
Z

AND WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF THE 57!!!

You don't want to use AUX output from the mixer (ttm 57) for your main output sound to the amp.

Use either the Master out (ideally) or if you don't have the proper cables (the master out is XLR) you can use the Booth out and run 1/4" cables to your amp.

If your amp only has RCA inputs, just get some RCA to 1/4" adapters.

Master & Both are identical, it's just the master accept balanced / unbalanced line level, where as Booth is only unbalanced line level.

Using RCA to 1/4" adapters will still make the balanced signal be unbalanced. So I dont see why he should not simply use the AUX out.

What do you mean by "master accept[s]"?
Deejay Z 6:04 PM - 26 January, 2008
meaning the master can be balanced or unbalanced......I think
nik39 6:22 PM - 26 January, 2008
If so... the same applies to the Booth output.

thanks Deejay Z and all , i got the sound now...
But I still hear that highpitch noise in the background, is there a way we can avoid it ?

the highpitch noise is probably the sound of the control signal. nothing you can do about it.

all three signals are the same so you can use the aux as your main
