hi there
i have has ssl 1 since late 2007
this issue is not related to my laptop as i have tried on various laptops with different operating systems etc
i have updated serato software on each occasion to the latest
my mixer is working fine, i play vinyl through it regularly and there are no issues with the line/phono or cd in (i am using a djm 400)
the rca cables are all new so this is not the issue either
serato SSL connects and the s/w is recognised as normal but the issue is when i play a song on either deck on SSL sw it does not send any sound to the mixer, the green graphic equaliser lights on the mixer do not light up and no signal is received. the volume is turned up on the GUI for serato and the track plays properly
my issue seems to be similar to this guys one, and i have isolated the issue to the actual serato box (its not the mixer, decks or laptops) - i have tried with internal mode etc too and still no joy....
i live in dublin ireland and need this hardware working for an upcoming gig, can you advise me, like you did in the link i posted, of somewhere that can repair the box?
or perhaps you can advise me of some troubleshooting suggestions as i seem to have tried everything i can think of, ive also searched through countless threads on here and still no luck
thanks
brendan

just to add, i disconnected and reconnect the wires so many times, all exactly as in the diagram.. ive been using serato ssl for years so i know how the wires go, ive even intentionally connected them the wrong way around to see if i got signal on the mixer but nope
i paid 600 euro from official serato reseller when i bought it so im hoping i can get it repaired as i dont think its under warranty and at this stage i think its a hardware fault (thought serato hardware was rock solid but this one suddenly seems to have just stopped working)
looking forward to any feedback, thanks!!

Hi Brendan,
Just to clarify, Serato make the software, Rane make the hardware. But yes both of them should be solid as a rock! It just sounds like you might have caught a case of bad luck and your SL unit has met its maker.
Have you tried plugging something other than the Rane SL box into the mixer? For example, plug in an iPod or other audio device into the rear inputs of the mixer just to see that the mixer actually receives signal. Then you can make sure its not the mixer that is the problem.
I would contact Rane at www.rane.com to organize a repair or replacement.
Or you can contact this authorized repair centre in Ireland:
