What do you mean by setup? You can use the Bridge with your SL 1 just fine, all you need is Ableton Live/Suite 8.2 or greater. The Bridge is not supported by Ableton Live Lite, Ableton Live Intro, Ableton Live Akai Professional APC edition and Ableton Live Launchpad edition.

If you are wanting to introduce a controller into your setup to control Ableton, the Akai APC-40 is one of the best controllers for this. Although they are a little pricey, they mimic the session view of Ableton perfectly and let you have all the device controls at your fingertips.

But in terms of doing, both CD players and/or turntables work fine with The Bridge, its all about preference!
