Ortofon pink VS Ortofon Qberts and setup question

A_Jack 5:53 PM - 22 May, 2012
I've been reading some threads here about these carts and people seem to like both of these. I'm buying a new setup so I just wanna know those who have used both a lot which one do you prefer??

What do you think about this setup also?

1x Rane 62
2x Stanton st-150
2x Ortofon pink or qbert
2x Butter rugs

Fuck all them expensive needles, get shure m447 they are good for use with serato and with vinyl

Well money is not an issue for these at the moment so if these are as good as m447 or a bit better I might as well get either of them.

Bump, any opinions? :) Guess I could get shures also but I'm interested overall which of these two ortofons performs better.

get the pinks my dude... great sound and they hug the records very well.

m447 are great too, but they are very easy to bend... i went through a shit load of m447's cuz they kept bending... ive been rocking the pinks for about 2 years and love em.

If I'm not mistaken the Qberts have a louder output. Go with the Q's

Yes.

On top of that, I've had extra shell weights on my headshells since I've started DJ'ing. And I'm not talking that ridiculous "dime" lookin' mess that comes with most headshells these days, but the rectangular one that, "YES" you have to "Mount" on the cartridge....

(I can just imagine those breaking wires installing a cartridge, having a duck about something ELSE you have to do to a cartridge...)

Anyway, I've always lived by the notion that it's better to have MORE weight on the headshell, that you can scale back with the counterweight, than WISH you had more and then you start lookin for dimes and whatnot to make up the difference...
