Video output amplifier?

Well I'm starting to get in to video now and I'm just practicing at the house off my macs output to my tv using a mini dvi to hdmi converter. Well I'm talking to a guy I know from around town who does video mixing at clubs and stuff and told me that the converter I got wont work in a club cause it needs to be amplified to work with multiple tvs or the video will be off on all the Tvs. I'm new to video so please bear with me here. the way he described it was the tv closes to me will be on time with the music but the farther the tv the slower it is, almost like it has latency. The solution he gave me was some kind of amplifier that has multiple outs on it. I never seen this thing he's talking about but supposedly it has 4 video RCA outs 2 vgi and 2 s video outs on this thing and it cost like $350. Has anyone heard of this thing or direct me to a beginners sticky or something.

Any venue which has multiple screens will already have them linked together with some sort of distribution system, you should never need more than one output.
A lot of venues will require a composite or component connection from you, though, and you'll need a scan converter for that.
Your best bet is to watch this: remixreport.com

Yeah they are. I just wish the price on some of those scan converter scalers didn't go up. The extron one there talking about I just looked on eBay for it and it's up to $400 now. Well I guess I'm just going to have to do a search and see if I can find something that will work for now until I get to a level where I'll need to run more then 3 tv's. Thanks again by the way.

Just get one of the cheaper ones they talk about and throw it in your bag 'just in case'.
No point buying an expensive one until you know you'll need it. A lot of places will have newer systems where you can hook up via HDMI or VGA now anyway.

I think that's what I'm going to do. I have gigs just spinning but not video and it seems like video is coming more in demand here in Florida, so it's time to start getting into it. Just trying to collect videos is enough to make you go crazy between all this damn video/record pools and now I got to worry about converting and scaling. I just need to go on a gig with someone who does videos all night so I can see how their system looks and get a better idea.

Video has been entrenched in Florida a long time. Most of my collection is based off a Rockamerica library a club in Daytona, FL sold back in the mid 1990s. Tampa has plenty of nights and I know Orlando and Miami do as well.

Well I live in st lucie and there was only one place I knew of out of Miami that wanted video and that was safari before it shut down. I know there in Miami but that market is so flooded it crazy. From club owners in Orlando there asking for video now when before it was a option, some spots won't hire you at all if your not doing video so it's time to get into it.
