Hallo,

i have a Rane TTM 57sl.

Last Time i bought a Laptop to make my mixer mobile, but i send the Laptop back, because the CPU was so bad (Intel PentiumĀ® (Dual-Core) B960 Prozessor 2x 2,20 GHz).
I wasnt able to scratch with that CPU :((( (not enough horsepower)
Now im going to buy a new Laptop, and i plz need your help by selecting the right CPU.
from my budge i can choose between this both CPUs:

AMD Quad-Core Prozessor A6-3420M Prozessor 4x 1.50 GHz (2.40 GHz TurboBoost)

or

Intel Core i5 (2. Generation) 2450M Prozessor 2x 2,50 GHz (3.10 GHz TurboBoost)

can you pls tell me which one is the better choice ? I want to be able to go for a very low latency, to make the scratchfeeling more authentic.

Actually the question in short is:

Does Serato support (use) all 4 cores of the AMD Quadcore ? So if it does the AMD CPU must be the better choice.

Otherwise i go for the Intel I5.

THX for any help.

Hi Gerd,

Please use the search function at the top of the page. There are loads of "what computer should I get" threads on here, I'm sure a few of them will be the answer you were looking for :)

Also, right on our Scratch Live main feature page, we have a minimum specification chart. If you read this you would have found out that AMD processors aren't supported by Scratch Live.

Minimum specs: serato.com

Problems using AMD processors: serato.com

So the i5 looks like your best bet!

Cheers mate :)
