Rane 62 and Serato Video pros and cons??

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about getting a 62 soon and I perform primarily video DJ sets. Was wondering how users are liking the combo of the 62 and S-video. Anyone having any problems? By the way, I'm aware it doesn't work with ME so no need to go into that here if that's okay. I'll use my 57 when I use ME.

I've done some poking around on the web and haven't found any issues. Just wanna make sure before I drop the coin. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

62 is a dope mixer. it works fine with serato video but you'll need to midi map everything. not like the 57 where there was a video group. not really a biggie because the latest beta unlocks the sixty-two's midi layers. so you can make a custom layer for video.

i'm not a big fan of SV's transitions, effects and the UI for transitions/effects. when you map to the effects, scrolling and selecting is a pain in the ass. another thing that you can't do is save your favorite transition or effect as preset so you don't have to scroll through the list again.

love the 62 as a mixer. it's difficult to go back to using a 57 or a pioneer. my favs: individual channel filters, per channel flex fx routing (even mic and usb aux has flex fx), split cue, dedicated controls for auto/manual looping/cues/samples/library, usb soundcard capability, individual channel cue, usb aux, better fx and fx control.

but serato video...hated it.
