power surge from ibook?

hey, just picked up a new ibook and I'm wondering why the power will shut off on my H-K when I am shutting down the laptop. I have the receiver running through the headphone jack. It happened tonight as well when the ibook went to sleep on its own. Maybey it is a feature ? thanks

by H-K do you mean Harmon-Kardon? a headphone jack should not have the ability to control an external device.
