I am boycotting the 57SL.

I am an Australian dj, and I battle with a Vestax 06Pro and 2x Technics 1200s.
I bought Scratch Live in order to digital edit and scratch video, which I have been waiting for long before I heard the original release date of July 2007.

I am outraged that Rane and Serato would stab me in the back. They have monopolised the software deliberately, and I have discussed this for some time with them personally. They should show some loyalty to those that invested in the original Scratch Live unit, instead of trying to line their own pockets. If I had known that they would do this I would have stuck to my vinyl.

It would have saved me time, effort, and money that I spent changing my OS.
NO Linux support? Yeah Thanks. Not to mention buying a multimedia hub to record.

I hope you're happy, you've opened the door for every try-hard with a dvd collection. So much for preparation or experience.

If everyone has to use the same equipment, then how is anyone going to do anything different or original? If you can't manage video with the industry standard, then you shouldn't be a dj, let alone a vjay. The 57SL are a gimmick, and Rane mixers are for amateurs.

If I find a way to scratch video files without Video-SL, I will make this information as public as humanly possible. Once again, I am boycotting the 57SL, and anyone that wants to join me: post here, or email serato directly.

Rane, Serato. The customer is always right, and we want Video-SL too. You don't even have to change it, just release it without the 57SL.

Yes everyone boycott the 57 and if you already have one Sell It now. This is Outrageous, them MuthaF@#$ers. Seriously sell you 57 right now. You'll probably have a hard time selling this piece of junk mixer, so as a good citizen I'm willing to take it off your hands for 50 cents on the Dollar. I know, I know, but I'm here to help you guys out. I only have enough to help out about 20-25 of you guys. Charity is a good thing.












On side note: I will be opening up an Ebay DJ store soon Specializing in Pre-Owned Rane 57's. I will post up as soon as inventory becomes available.

What about the guys who bought 57s do they not deserve some loyalty? How about the people that already had an SL 1 (or two or three) and then bought a 57 (or two or three). Maybe they owned Pitch 'n' Time, do these people not deserve more loyalty than you?

What?? So everyone should be using different equipment otherwise everyone sounds/looks the same, yet you have to be able to manage video with the industry standard, i.e. everyone using standard, or the same, equipment.

Rane mixers are select for installation by all of the top sound system installers in the world. The TTM series mixers are used by almost all the top scratch DJs. I'm pretty sure your wish will be granted but I don't think it will have anything to do with your boycott. You see boycotting a mixer you were never going to buy isn't a threat, Rane haven't lost a sale.

A lot of you guys are sleeping on my charity to refund you 50% of what you paid for this piece of dooky mixer. No one has contacted me, so I'm going to use a little of themoney and go surf in Mexico for a month. I will still have contact via internet. Hit me up before I'm not feeling charitable anymore.

On a side note: DJed with Vice the other night and for whatever reason uses to use this lame mixer.

hash_cookie@hotmail, it is not acceptable for you to post the same message to multiple discussions on this site. This is something that is referred to as "cross posting" and is considered bad netiquette. Please do not do this in future.

As to VIDEO-SL for the SL 1, it is possible that the SL 1 may be supported in future versions. There are a number of reasons why we have initially only supported the 57 SL, none of which are intended as slights towards our SL 1 customers. The reasons include technical issues and support issues. This may change in the future.

As to Linux support, Linux is not yet a viable or sensible platform for pro audio software. The overwhelming majority of pro audio tools are made for Windows or OS X, and as such there is very little demand or interest in Linux support. This also may change in the future, if Linux becomes considered a mainstream option for pro audio tools.

I too was boycotting the 57sl.but the other day I went to GC and was looking at buying a better mixer then the ones I have so I was like cool let me look at the vestax 08 and 07 then the price $799.then i was like dam $539 for the sl1 box so I walked out of GC with a Brand new TTM 57SL mixer for $1084 out the door,the boycott is over hahaha.

I'm not trying to hustle anyone, I'm offering to help some of my fellow DJ's out by taking this crappy mixer off their hands and compensate them, so they wouldn't be left high and dry. Also it wasn't too cool of you to called me a tool, I'm a serious DJ. I think it's pretty obvious by reading the entire thread that while I'm sure he's serious about his offer, I think it's pretty clear that he's poking fun (no misquote) at hash_cookie's whole 'boycott' scenario. I mean, yeah, if anyone hates their 57 enough to sell it for $750 then I'd buy that shit in a heartbeat. You'd be stupid not too. Everyone here knows their value and anyone stupid enough to sell it that cheap would naturally be well aware of the amount of profit one could make off of that deal. It's all blatantly, glaringly obvious.

Thanks Money D, but I'm always down for a battle, my crew <{ The Icy Hot Stunnas }> will be out in full force. Gdubbz is flaunting his steez with " I DJ 4 nights" a week crap. I didn't want to flaunt my ish, but now I have too. I live near (NW #1 VDJ) D-twizzle, (R&B Sensation) DJ Benji and I'm only a short drive from Money D. I've also been in the same room as DJ's AM, Qbert, MMM and many other well known DJ's.

Shit, I'm currently in the process of teaming up with DJ Domination (the best DJ in the fukcing world) and I have like a million mp3's. Like I said "when you're ready to step up to my Level, let's do it. I'm still looking for a club to play at, so you're going to have to battle me at my house, old school style Bitch!
