Songs not loading fast enough (using VCI-300)

Hey all, never had this problem with Scratch Live or with my previous laptop and previous versions of Itch, but I just bought a new laptop (HP Elitebook 8540w) and when I load a new song, I'm finding that the waveform isn't loading fast enough. Eventually the audio catches up to the waveform and then the audio drops out and the waveform goes blank. I know what you're going to say: have you analyzed all of your tracks? Well my issue is that previously I never had this issue as the waveforms (especially in Scratch Live) populated very quickly and the audio could NEVER catch up to the waveform analyzing process. This is a faster laptop than my previous one so just not sure why I'm having this problem. The waveform is populating pretty slowly. I am using an external drive but like I said, I didn't have this problem before. I can't imagine it's my laptop since this one's more powerful than my previous laptop. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? With my previous laptop, I just ran Itch and it worked perfectly without having to tune my PC (like turning programs off, etc.). I thought my new laptop was also fast enough so I wouldn't have to worry about all that. Anyhow, any tips would be appreciated. And I've been using Scratch Live (and Final Scratch) since these products first came out so I'm not a noob. Just encountering a new problem I've never had before. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, does the computer run Windows Vista? I ran Itch on two different computers with Vista and they both crash out and have issues. Still haven't found a fix, but I'm hoping the Vestax rep was able to get in contact with Serato to figure it out.

No, I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit). Previous laptop ran Windows XP. Could the Windows 7 be a problem?

Anyone?

I'm not sure if it is Windows 7. I would assume it's your rig, though. I've used my set-up on 7 with no issues around 5 times. That leads me, the random-don't-know-anything-guy, to assume it's something with your processor.

Creating a software that runs perfectly on every computer is possible, so, hopefully, Serato will just have to tweak afew things to fix both of our problems.

I'm also thinking that it may just be that I'm playing the music off of my external. I used to download them to the laptop itself every time, but thought it would be more convenient to just play straight off of the HD but looks like that may be creating other issues.

Buy a MAC

A. have you tried a few tracks off of the internal HD?
B. have you tried a different USB cable? or maybe a powered USB hub?
3. buy a big internal drive?
infinity. buy a mac.

I'll test using internal but the whole point of the external is that I have a desktop for my main and I only use the laptop for Serato so I want to avoid constantly transferring my music. Just want to leave my music on the external so I can use it with both my desktop and laptop hassle free. And no macs.

I also sometimes have this problem, the track does not load quickly, and is not used in full, using cue points and jumping to a cue and another, the track does not play, my version of itch and 1.7 I like him very well, the pc and the internal disk and quietly effective, use W7

Sorry for my English

Cheers Francesco
