My Serato box dropped out for the 1st time tonight. I was playing a track on deck 2 and editing the beat grid on deck 1 and the usb light showed up turned red lost audio for about a 1/4 of a second then it went orange and then back fine after i was done editing the grid...
Why did this happen?

17" MacBook Pro 8gb ddr3 Aftermarket seagate hybrid drive. (music on that drive internally), core i7 2.3ghz.

what dose the beatgrid have to do with the bridge? I know its needed for ableton to line tracks up with. But i didn't think my issues has anything to do with the bridge.

Hey Code:E,

Try a new USB Cable, are you using a USB Hub at all?

Hey Code:E,

Have you tried another USB yet though and tested to see if you're still getting drop outs? I'm glad you know all the basic stuff but i'll still probably ask you some question you may have already tried but to get a picture of what's going on its important for me to ask everything.

Drop outs like this usually occur when the computer is under pressure from a lot going on. You did have the Ableton & Scratch Live running and editing beat grids which could be pushing your CPU a bit.

Let's do some tests, basically i'll get you to run the 'Activity Monitor' and look for spiking in the cpu monitor, while running all similar to when your had dropouts.

Make sure you aren't running any other programs apart from what your using with Scratch Live, there is a simple optimization guide to follow, link: serato.com

Let me know how you go.

All USB ports function ju as st well on my MBP, but I know i already have it in the best one with the least amount of device's hubbed off it internally.

No ableton is not running. ME is however. (on a side note I can run ME or VSL well running ableton when i like and still have no slow downs).

Well i can tell you now that i'm sure my activity monitor will spike, but i just want to know why? How come the beat grid is taking on so much?

Will do some testing and get back to you.

Well I have discovered that editing beat grids well videos are playing (or paused) Whether i use ME or VSL cause serato to crash (even in offline mode)
Code:E 6:18 PM - 11 May, 2012
Can you tell me if there anything wrong with this video? It was one that caused a crash when editing the beat grid. It also will not sort correctly. I have had this issue for a long time now about files not sorting correctly started a different help request about it but the issue was never solved.
