IE8 - at work.

Previously the blue bar at the top of the screen popped up when you first arrive at the site to inform you of new posts in private & tracked discussions...it didn't get in the way as the discussion toolbox on the right meant you could go straight to it but now in the absence of the toolbox it's a lil' annoying...

...or is that me?

it also seems that any discussion I comment in gets automatically tracked?

This has always been the case DJ DisGrace :-) You can disable this on your settings page.

thanks adrian w, will make the changes.

However I can assure you this has only started since the update. Previously, if I commented on a thread it got the star. I could then choose to "track" in the toolbox. Until now, they've always been two separate things. Using Chrome 18.0.1025.168 if that helps.

Maybe the new site layout reset my preferences/settings? If I had made this setting change originally it would have been a loooong time ago, and I definitely don't remember lol

The site update wouldn't have changed your preference, we didn't touch any of that functionality in the redesign, but there was a brief period after launch where the automatic tracking wasn't working - though this was remedied shortly after.

If you find you're still having trouble, let us know as the tracking functionality may still have a bug in it, but the preference and behavior itself hasn't changed.
