The only time my X1 stops working for me is if I unplug it. If I plug the USB back in, it won't work in SSL. I need to re-start SSL for it to work again.

yeah that was pretty much the same for me before the format but now it just stops working without reason and i don't know what to do

Is it plugged into a USB hub?
Is the hub powered.

no it's not into a usb hub straight to mac's usb port i don't think the osx is the problem worked fine with the same version before the format...wondering if there are isues with the 2.4.1 version of the ssl

Are you using any other USB devices with your SSL and X1 setup?

Does reverting to a previous version of SSL resolve the problem?

no nothin else just the x1...i created a new template in the traktor kontroler editor for the x1 and it worked fine for a few days but yesterday i had the same problem again if it remains i ll try installing an older version of ssl

i tried sth weird and think it worked everytime before i started playin i had through mode enabled on both decks the last 2 times i didnt enable the thru mode and everything worked fine sounds strange but it worked...is it possible thru mode caused all this?

Try to reproduce the issue using THRU and see if you can get the problem to happen again.

unfortunately i had the same problem again without using the thru mode...what i can't understand is why does it happen sometimes and sometimes doesn't i can't explain it and i can't find the cause of it...everything goes smooth and suddenly it stops working i ll try installing an older version of ssl and see what happens

Same here, also with Serato 2.4.1.
Even when I restart the Serato the X1 won't connect serato.
"workaround" - I've downgrade to 2.3.3 and it the X1 came back to work with serato.
This should in High Priority for 2.4.1 bug fixes.

To clarify, the issue only occurs when using the 2.3.3 version of SSL?

The 2.4.1 version includes changes to the MIDI functions in SSL. Are you creating your own preset or using the preset included with the X1 that NI created?

The issue is with serato 2.4.1
After changing back to serato 2.3.3 it came back to work again.
Not using the templates - created a template of my own.

When using the 2.4.1 version of SSL, create a new MIDI preset, map the X1 to SSL and then save the preset with a new name, creating two different presets (your old one and the new one). Hopefully, the new preset created with the 2.4.1 version will work without losing communication.

I've bought the x1 after updating to 2.4.1 - just a week ago.
Which means that I've never had an x1 preset which is related to older version of serato.

Wow, very odd. I may have asked this already, when the device loses communication, does the X1 disappear from the Connected MIDI Devices panel?

pretty much the same for me just like kerendot with the older versions of ssl no problem at all and the strangest thing is that even though x1 stops working ssl still identifies it as a connected midi device as i wrote in the first message everything started after i formated my mac so there was no older preset of x1 in ssl midi panel or older template in x1 kontroler editor...i just don't know what to do...

and something else when this problem occurs the only way to get the x1 working again is to restart my mac which is a bit difficult when working :)

yes...the last 3 days everything is working fine no problem at all withount changing a thing

could this be just a mac issue?i have an acer laptop with windows 7 installed i ll try it there...however as i told you before the last 3 days there has been no problem at all

It may be just a Mac thing, but I'm not totally sure. There's only a few people having this issue, so it's hard to narrow down the cause at the moment, which is why I'm curious if the problem occurs when using a different computer (mac or pc) :)

When the X1 quits working, do the keyboard commands work? specifically cue points, loading tracks?

tonight it happened again the x1 just stopped working while playin after 3 days without any problem... i am really confused...tomorrow i ll install an older version of ssl and see how it goes...justin yes the keybord commands work when the x1 crushes

If you haven't already, I highly recommend updating Snow Leopard from 10.6.3 to the 10.6.8 version, just in case :)

still using the 10.6.3 version...2 days now with the 2.4.0 version of ssl no problem at all if it remains like this there will be no updates of any kind at all... if the same problem occurs again then i ll update to the 10.6.8 version...

Have you searched NIs forums for Traktor users experiencing the same issue with the X1?

i will in the next few days...today i installed the 2.3.3 version of ssl and see how it goes with this one

mac os 10.6.8 and ssl 2.3.1-3 the x1 works fine...so i think the problem is with the 2.4.0-1 versions of ssl...i don't know if any other djs experienced the same problem but i think the whole thing is a bug of the 2.4 versions of ssl...definitely something rane should take care of :)

i did it and the ssl could not even identify the x1 reinstalled the older version again

The 2.4.2 version is now an official full release. Please give it a try and see if it has better results with the NI X1.
