Have to scroll to top of page to get back to forum

CMOS 8:02 PM - 2 May, 2012
The last version of the forum had a little box that slid with me as i scrolled up and down. It was easy to jump back to the forum you were in, the main forum page, my private discussions.

The first version of the forum had page numbers at the bottom to click on.

This version has nothing, i have to scroll ALLLLLLLLL the way up to the top to get back to the forum.

This happens when in an actual thread, the forum itself has page numbers to click.

Similar issue (but not exactly the same one) :
I don't miss the box, however the buttons for "Track this Discussion", "Mark as Unread" and maybe the "tracked discussion" link should be (also?) available at the bottom. Otherwise you have to scroll the whole thread up again.

We've taken all the feedback about the buttons being somewhere handy on board and we're working on a good solution. Stay tuned :-)

yes. please put proper navigation at the bottom of the page as well.

Just in case some are unaware...at least in Firefox, command arrow-up/arrow-down will immediately send you to the top (or bottom) of whatever page you're viewing.

Definitely easier than scrolling all the way back up for a huge thread :-)

We've implemented a change so you shouldn't have to scroll back to the top for Tracking or Forum links. Hope you like it, let us know your feedback!

I like it, but it covers the top of new posts in threads now, that I don't like :P Maybe you could make the new post link thingy direct to a few pixels higher? =)

Yeah, we're looking into an elegant solution to that...

This works. It needs a bit of polish but this is nice. Thank you.

Personally I don't like how the top bar shrinks and enlarges all by itself when scrolling. I find it confusing. Sometimes it's delayed and makes it a little bit unpredictable.

Btw that bar doesn't appear on my android browser.
CMOS 12:03 AM - 9 May, 2012
It shows on IOS but is a bit jittery. Doesnt move smoothly so it looks a bit sloppy.

I'm writing this on an Android tablet with os version 4.0.4.

The bar docks but it's a bit flakey, especially when scrolling quickly.

I'll look into it.

I am still on 2.3.7 :-( Don't know if that makes a difference.

Lucky for some... I'm still on 2.3.5 :-), but I see your problem.

It doesn't appear on screen, instead, it gets positioned at the top of the page, covering the top links rather than being in a fixed position that follows you while you scroll down.
