Whenever I connect my Twitch to my laptop and load a song onto a deck the waveform doesn't appear. However I can still browse with the Twitch.

Looks like it is there to me, what do you mean exactly?

Yes. You can see the smaller waveform. But the main one is not there, the one that scrolls along when you press play? It doesn't appear.

Hey Mikey
The waveform overview is written to the file has nothing to do with the the decoded waveform which is missing in this case. The reason is that the software is unable to decode the info.
Does this happen with all tracks or just a few?
Have you tried re-analyzing the files?
Can you play it in other media players such as 'Window Media Player' or Quicktime?
Are you using an external drive?
Do these files play in offline player?
Could you please attach this file to the thread and we'll try and re-produce this and see whats going on?
Please answer all of these question for me as it will help us diagnose the problem.

It happens to all the tracks
I have tried re-analysing the files
I can play them in media players
I am using an external drive
They play in offline player
I have had to downgrade to 1.8.2. That version of Itch works, just anything above that this happens.

You've sent a .wav are all you files .wav ?
Also try moving a few files to the desktop and remove the Ext HD and try importing those songs and see if the waveforms appear?

All of my music files are .wav But removing the HD and loading the files from the desktop does nothing to fix the problem.

Hey Mikey,
I'm wondering whether it's because your system might be struggling with .wav's in ITCH. Can you do a test for me and convert one or two files into MP3 and reanalyze those two files and import them and see if the waveforms show up?
Let me know how you go.

I have tried .wav files and .mp3's. They both don't work. However as I said everything is fine when using 1.8.2/

Hi _Mikey,
could you please try deleting your "database V2" file from your _Serato_ folder? it's located in your music directory.

Hey Alexmarsden,
It would be really helpful if you could start your own help thread, we can give you better support in your own personal thread :)
Mikey,
How are you going?

O.k, can you try moving your _Serato_ Folder to the desktop and then reopening ITCH, drag some music files into ITCH and see if the waveforms show up. Maybe that will help us determine if it's a _Serato_ issue.
I know this is a long process I hope we can get there in the end. Let's just keep narrowing it down.

That doesn't seem to work. Whenever I open up Itch it just creates another _Serato_ folder in my music directory. And deleting it whilst Itch is open does nothing.

Sorry I may have not explained it fully, thats what we want, a new serato folder to be created, then open ITCH and drag some files in. See what happens :)

Lets try this next.
This will delete your Serato preferences but hopefully will bring back your Waveforms, worth a try.
Start menu in search type - Regedit
In regedit > Hkey >Current > User > Delete the Serato Folder....
Then re-open ITCH and see what happens.

Hey Mikey,
I've had a chat with one of our Product owners about your issue and he has seen it before however there hasn't at this stage been a way for us to reproduce it hence the lack on our part of being able to give you a straight fix. Basic put the problem is that the audio is not connecting with the TWITCH sound card, but the MIDI still is, which is why the controls all work but you don't get/see any audio.
He suggested a few extra tests to try and work forward hopefully to a fix but no guarantees.
- Try change the ITCH buffer size in the Setup screen
- Plug TWITCH in before you opens ITCH, and vice versa.
- I'm going to connect a TWITCH to one of our Windows computer and see what it shows up as, I need to make sure yours matches up with what we see. i.e is the computer selecting it as a soundcard? Is it even seeing it as a soundcard? You can check this in the Windows Audio Panel. So if you let me know what shows up in your Windows Audio Panel, I can see if it matches up?

I have just retried changing the USB buffer size and different ways of opening Twitch and Itch, which hasn't worked. My laptop is selecting the Twitch as a soundcard when it's plugged in as I use the Twitch all the time to play audio from the internet or for music files, because I don't have a 3.5mm jack to plug directly into my speakers from my laptop.

Hey _Mikey,
Let's uninstall the TWITCH Drivers and ITCH, going back a step.
Go to > Start menu> Search - Device Manager > Sound video Game controllers > Is TWITCH there?
Does it have a yellow icon next to it?
Anyway If so delete it.
Uninstall ITCH then try reinstalling everything again.
Let me know how you go.

Hey Mikey,
Have you tried your TWITCH with a different computer to see if it works on that?
It's alway seemed strange to me that it works fine on 1.8.2 but not new versions. However unfortunately I have exhorted all possible fixes I can think of. I've spoken with developers, CRT team, product owes and no one seems to be able to find a fix at this stage. As we can't reproduce it here its very hard to determine exactly what is happening. The last possible fix i can think of it a system format and restart of the computer system. However that may not be an option for you and/or may not fix this issue still. I'm sorry i couldn't help you sort this out. What do you think about the formatting possibility?

I don't think formatting will be an option. I haven't got another computer to test it on, however it seems that other people who have had this issue have been able to fix it by using a different computer. I suppose I will just downgrade back to 1.8.2 for the time being.
Thanks for all your help trying to find a fix for the issue though. It's a shame we couldn't find a fix for it.

Hey Mikey,
Yes it's very disappointing for me here too. This issue is so hard to diagnose as it seems to be a quite specific issue related to your particular setup. I really hope you have some success with the downgrade, I know it's not the most positive solution.
I'll close this thread for now, feel free to re-open if you have anything more to add or want any further support with this or any other issues. If you decide to reformat and it works please let me know.
Warm Regards

"Yes it's very disappointing for me here too. This issue is so hard to diagnose as it seems to be a quite specific issue related to your particular setup." are you serious? This is the same problem we are all having on all of our setups.
"I really hope you have some success with the downgrade" wow
How can this possibly be considered successful. A downgrade is never a success.

Hey Amado,
I'm sorry about this issue and your obvious frustration at the lack of solution for it at this time. Without us being able to reproduce this issue it's very hard to diagnose and then fix.
I see Matt P is helping you in another post and I will support where I can and hopefully we can together figure out what maybe causing this to happen. It's not a wide spread issue, it has showed up a few times on the forum but it's not happening to every TWITCH user.
We will do our best to help.

Hey Guys,
Did you guys every get your TWITCH's to work? I was just working with a user who had a HP P.C based laptop on Windows 7.
He had three USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports on his laptop. We were able to solve the issue of the waveforms not appearing for him by using the USB 2.0 ports. Please try this for yourselves if possible. It maybe too late but i thought i'd let you guys know anyway. It's been bugging me for a almost year!
