Ducking Echo

HittinSkinzTa2 9:48 PM - 16 April, 2012
Pioneer got it right with this one.

Watchwww.youtube.com

I was going to post this in "SSL Feature Suggestions" but I think it's more for SSL with Rane mixers.
Anyway, I think it would be awesome if Serato/Rane to implement an equivalent for us 61,62,57 users. I'm thinking that it could because in the set-up screen, there are software selections/tweeks for the Echo section. Possible?
S4racen 10:17 PM - 16 April, 2012
Agreed!

I have a 909. It's hot to have the ducking echo. Please asap
DJ Barticus 11:23 PM - 16 April, 2012
nice, i would love to see something like this on the 62

i'm assuming it's possible to update the fx via firmware updates, right?
funkyfresh2012 3:40 AM - 17 April, 2012
+1 ^^^Agreed
Res-Q 3:51 AM - 17 April, 2012
+1 yes!
DJ Barticus 4:41 AM - 17 April, 2012
it may also already be possible via internal fx, and creative MIDI settings with the line faders.

i'll have to experiment, someone let me know if you figure it out first.
dj shadow from detroit 4:45 AM - 17 April, 2012
would be nice
Musically Minded 2:29 PM - 17 April, 2012
+1 Great effect!
AVENUE 3:38 PM - 17 April, 2012
I want this .....
Niro 9:19 PM - 17 April, 2012
That's how we use to do it with the efx 500/1000. The only weird thing I can see is the actual implementation, since you usually engage the echo at the beginning of the beat and than bring down the fader at the end. I guess you can just tap on something. But yes, would be a great effect.
wicked223 12:15 AM - 19 April, 2012
yes i want this

Enjoy more teasing vid LOL

FYI you do not have to use the channel fader to activate the duck echo. :)

Just stop the music
You-Lee 1:49 AM - 23 April, 2012
No one is stopping the record all the time for the echo effect. Stopping the turntable is not practical if you want to continue playing the same track on the same deck. Its cool but thats not as important as the fader option.
DJ_X_Trodinaire 2:04 AM - 23 April, 2012
It was just an other option.
But if you already probably know, most will use the echo out when changing songs.
Press the stop button to stop/brake the music and it produces brake echo out :)
You-Lee 2:11 AM - 23 April, 2012
I know what it does. I've been doing that as most old school djs for decades. That's your opinion that most djs will use it to echo out to change songs. That's will be done sometimes. If that is the only way a dj can change tracks? ? Is should they call themselves a dj...
DJ_X_Trodinaire 4:09 AM - 23 April, 2012
Smh ill just keep my thoughts to myself before i say something that might irk you more
You-Lee 7:10 AM - 23 April, 2012
Your not irkung me.. Lol My point is dropping the fader is more practical for what you can do with or create. If you think about it if you drop the fader it's the same as the stop. Just don't put the fader up & go to your next track. The stop effect can still be done if you stop the record and drop the fader. It would be cool to have both, but the drop the fader effect is more effective in my option. That should be the focus.
MPC O.G. 6:05 PM - 23 April, 2012
There is a youtube tutorial on how to replicate this on the 57. I just got 57 today, it's still in the box, but I knew I had to be able to do this.
MPC O.G. 6:08 PM - 23 April, 2012
Just type in ducking echo on 57 on youtube. A 2 part video by SeratoTutor will come up.
out of control robots 6:11 PM - 23 April, 2012
Got a 909 and this is such a nice feature, agree with You-lee the reason to use the up fader depends n theeffect you want to get. It alsp means you can fade the track back in on time, try that with the stop! Or if your're using in combination with the cross fader whilst scratching....
You-Lee 6:20 PM - 23 April, 2012
Thank you. Out of Control Robots. I have the 909 and it is put away. That will be a collectors item, worth a lot of money and I would have to say the best analog battle dj mixer if you have records like I still do. It has everything you need inside. Yes you can put a serato or Traktor box and do the digital thing as well. Then you have even more Plasma. LOL. The ducking echo is a must a this point and time of digital dj and where its at now
You-Lee 6:21 PM - 23 April, 2012
Thank you MPC OG.

But Rane kicks Pioneers ass in sound quality and EQs.

You're welcome. Can't wait to fucc with my 57 in the morning. Mastering the ducking effect will be all I do for a couple of days.

Seen that before but it is not the same as what everyone wants.

duck echo on the 909 just uses the fader to activate the echo.
on the 57 you have to press the "on" button and fade out.
You-Lee 1:23 AM - 24 April, 2012
Exactly the ducking echo on the 909 is not on at all until the drop the fader. So you don't have to worry you might have left the echo on

You-Lee 1:53 AM - 24 April, 2012
Not saying I leave the echo on but I'm just sayin... ;)
HittinSkinzTa2 1:54 AM - 24 April, 2012
Lol I don't ALWAYS do it, but it does happen.

Fingers crossed.
You-Lee 1:57 AM - 24 April, 2012

YZ 5:59 PM - 24 April, 2012

HittinSkinzTa2 2:47 PM - 6 July, 2012
Thought I'd resurrect this since it wasn't implemented in the last update. Come on Rane/Serato!

that would be awesome! also i have suggested a software compressor that side chains to another channel send for ducking the tracks to another or also a gate that can be side chained so when u scratch on one deck that send would make the gate activate on another deck to what your pattern is ,,if that made sence???lol also a seprate sampler so u can sample recs live
without only using digital
