Hey guys,
So how was your first weekend with the new video plugin? Any crashes or audio drops? Video freezes? Any issues at all?

My question is not a joke. Do you ask because you've had problems, or because its been very stable?

Did a 1 1/2 hour session via Wirecast on Ustream, no problems. I ran ITCH w/ SV on my mac, used Desktop Presenter to stream the window to Wirecast on a seperate PC. All ran perfect aside from the Ustream recording lowering my bitrate too almost crap.

Not much has changed since it was vsl......
to be honest I am not willing to even install sv right now...but that other video plugin that was just released is on point

I've been on ME for over 2 years, but bought a new 62 so I tried out Serato Video this last Saturday. No crashes or bugs for me to report, but one thing that is clearly noticeable to me is the video quality. I have it set to best and it doesn't look as good as ME when blown up on the big screen projectors. I can live without all the bells and whistles that ME has, but bad video quality is like having bad audio quality to me.

I can say, its not working well at all if you have a sub 2011 Macbook Pro.
The other issue is there really needs to be a standardization of video format application add-on that gaurantees the stability.
I've spent the last 5 days troubleshooting BS - hopefully will have it sorted tonight but Serato seems to be very clueless here while the forum-ites seems to be figuring out everything for them
I'm wondering how Normal Cook is fairing - he's gotta have a full time enocding guy or is really pist off right now

That's simply not true.
It's not working for YOU because your files are bad.

I was scared to install this after the problems I had. I was experiencing crashes (kernel panic) on my mac. After reading up on that I found one of the main causes for the kernel panic is generic memory in the mac (which I did have). I replaced the generic with my factory memory from apple, re-installed the os, added on perian and have not had a problem yet. True the picture quality isn't as good, but after what I went thru, I can live with that. It runs smoother than the pervious. I can say I'm pleased.

Negative man - that was true before i re-encoded them according to recommended specs. SV program is a CPU hog. Im going to prove that out tonight with an iCore. After i do this and post my results, will hope Serato updates their specs

phatbob, i wanted to put this to the test, so i took out my old pre unibody macbook pro with osx leopard
this mac is 2.4 ghz 4 gig's of ram with a GeForce 8600M GT with VRAM (Total): 256 MB
the same video that kept crashing on my new macbook pro---> 15-inch: 2.2 GHz
2.2GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
8GB 1333MHz
500GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB GDDR5
is playing flawless & smooth on my old macbook, this is driving me crazy, how is it that my old mac is working better with serato video, when my new machine is so much more powerful
i want to pull out my hair wright now.......lol, i could have saved my self the money & keep on with my old mac, maybe it's a OSX LION problem
