I have to try and find the funds to buy a TTM57 so I can get started on the video thing!!!
I can't wait...I've been waiting for this, like so many others, for awhile now.
But, now an official date and price!!!!

You could have been doing video mixing a long time ago with Virtual DJ. We'll wait and see if a large amount of clubs start jumping on the video bandwagon.

Same question here about which is the best format. I bought a 2Tb lacie HD and ripped all files into .vob so now all I have to do is convert... which is still very time consuming. I agree with mpeg4 it seems to be the best encoder so far. I just want to use whatever is the best quality that is playable within SSL

Just curious, how big was the VOB of a promo only (or similar) music CD? Are you going to keep the VOB after converting?

I have done the same as Blaze... ripped a ton of VOB from my PO subscription. Since the SCRATCH team has said playback will be with Quicktime, I am going to start encoding mpeg4 (not looking forward to that time consuming task). I am going to keep the VOB files and a copy of the mpeg4 files on another hard drive (as back-up). It sounds like another compression format that is gaining speed is that H.264 (maybe better compression).
I am not that familiar with the best settings (to keep video and audio quality), does anyone have recommendations to maintain quality, and what is 'the best' format?

People were saying, I know sam said in one format that H.264 with AAC audio seemed to work well, however It was a while ago....

just switched to SERATO and RANE 57 MIXER. 10/10 100% dope. nuff said.
shouts to all serato forum mods and djs. i usually dont join these forums but i had to after i just bought my rane 57 mixer. i have used final scratch since it first cam out. then fs2 with traktor. then have since used virtual dj and numark cue software with my fs2 hardware. i was trying out video. not practical without cross fader control. and all those systems were shaky at best. and i never could really flex like on regular wax. juggles etc. always something stressin me out at live shows (approx 5 nights a week). i just bought the rane 57 mixer yesterday and i have to give rane and serato the props they deserve. it is an outstanding product and works even better than i would have hoped. first of all serato is way better in response and feel. sound is way better. the software is solid and although it doesnt have the bells and whistles of some other software it is the best software by far that is out there. it is stable. it desnt crash when importing and analyzing tracks. no glitches in serato so far. i am loving to spin and do tricks with serato. it was always something messin up w the other stuff. you guys have really beaten the crap out of all competition with this rane 57 mixer with serato. the controls couldnt be set up any better. the joysticks to double up and the scrolls with the dials. awesome! and the instant cue point are super fun to mess with. no cheating! anyways i had to give a super big shout. i was a long time hold out and i am wrong for not gettin up on the serato team first. well, im glad im on your team now. check out RADIOHIPHOP.com. if any DJs wanna do live internet shows on RADIOHIPHOP they can holler at me. peace.
mods- please file this better if i messed up putting it here. im trying to setup a store demo. i left a msg for mike mays today. keep me posted.

I just got my 57SL last week, but we have been out of town this week for Christmas...
I had the TTM56, but was not impressed with it... compared to the Pioneer DJM-707. I do like the TTM57SL though...
I still own Traktor with the Audio 8 DJ.
both are great products.
