do cops have anything better to do @ 3:30am than to right moving violations for not stoping a 100% at a blinking red light..... i swear man and then they tell you that your lucky they didn't write more tickets...
its ridiculous theres so many fuckin people out there driving drunk/high... and i get a ticket for not stopin all the way at blinkin red... and then have the gull to fuckin tell me im lucky... i wanna hear some cops opinions of why you give someone at ticket. I was 100% honest and nice to these cops and considering the circumstances it pisses me off.........................

the cops are so cool to me. I've been pulled over ONCE and as soon as they realized I worked for where I work at they were super nice, introducing themselves, etc etc. They even said they will keep a closer eye on my car while it's parked (they had mentioned they always saw it in the same spot).

I haven't been pulled over since.

I hate cops. There are some goods ones but most of them break the same rules everyone else does and think they don't deserved to get punished and then turn around and punish others....

Don't get me started on this!

i just got a ticket for going 79 on the freeway....i was on my way to a gig. I bet he just pulled me over cause he saw all of the equipment in my ride. Faggot bitch.
djpuma_gemini 8:47 AM 10 December 2007
HE pulled you over cause you were doing 79 in a 65. The best way to not get caught is to stay in the same lane and don't use the brake a lot. When they see you switching lanes and using your break they know that you are not going with the flow of traffic.
mister iLL 9:10 PM 10 December 2007
i would say breaking the law and then complaining a cop did something about you breaking the law makes the argument a bit weak...although i will say the cops are never there when you need them and always there upholding bullshit when you don't need em. its a rough-ass job, though, and they don't get paid what they deserve. much like teachers, firefighters, nurses, etc.

i really hate how they roll up into a store or whatever (like coffee shops and other places that they take breaks from their beat) and expect to get all hooked up for free all the time. I always feel better when they're not around
CMOS 9:35 PM 10 December 2007
Yall aint from NYC is all i gotta say.

After years of getting searched for no reason (try that illegal search line and get ya ass beat, that shit only works in movies) getting basically harrassed every single night for 10 years of my life just for the simple fact that we hung out on the corner, i can never like any cop.

An old friend i used to chill wit became a cop, i hate his ass now too.

djbriguy 9:46 PM 10 December 2007
So there was a cop in my home town who is my Dad's cousin... I hardly know him, but he knows who I am.. we talk... attend family shit together... etc.

Everytime i was pulled over, the cop would say "Are you related to Steve Fardink?"
-"Yes sir"
"alright, move it along"

One night I was pulled over, and was asked the same question. I said yes. Cop went back to his car. 10 mins later he came back and called me a liar. Said he called Steve, and he said we're not related. Mother fucker.

Dude's dad (my dad's uncle) lives across the street. I saw Steve over there one day visiting, so i marched over there and confronted him. He said he was tired of me using my name to get out of tickets. I said "They fucking asked me if i was related to you, I said yes.. i didnt lie!"

Fuckin family member is a pigg too.

So all ya'll old and young cats with such an immature attitude gonna sit here and bad mouth those who will came to save ur scared shitless self's when guns are blazing, people are dead, the shits hit the fan and u don't know what else to do! U don't call the ghost busters or someone else u call 911 and scream HELP ME!

Just because u got a couple of tix for either being stupid or bad luck, got lucked up bcuz u were drunk in public to the point u couldn't care for yourself or u decided to have stone courage and mouth off to a cop, u feel u have the right to bash those who wear the badge and are selfless enough to go out and protect people they don't know from jack!

I could say fuck all of ya'll! But, my better side says u guys are acting out cuz u did wrong and got caught! I believe in that saying that if u do the crime u deserve to do the time! Man up bitches! U go out drunk, get in a car and plow into a carload of people killing them, man up and go to jail for vehicular manslaughter! Don't puss out and go it's not my fault!

What I learned in my academy was that its not us against them or I'm better than ya'll(again that immature attitude), i learned that I might have to give my life selflessly for someone who hates my guts! I gotta be the better man and hold back my emotions when I arrest some jackass who just raped and murdered UR daughter, when in reality I wanna take that man out back and tune him up! I gotta be the one to sit here and listen to ya'll run ur fuckin mouths about some honorable men when ya'll mad at a few bad apples who made it into the force!

U guys are petty fuckin immature little bitches, period! And mods go head and ban me, ban me for standing up to a bunch of bitches who wanna hate on everyone when it was 1 or 2 people that did them
wrong!

If everyone hate on an entire group because one person from that group did them wrong, this would be a fucked up place! Then again that's how this world is, blame someone else when u fuck up or shit hits the fan!

However, Panic u know the club scene, so if ur one of those clubrats who like to act stupid in front of the cops and think oh I can do stupid shit and mouth off and get away with it. U got another thing coming! People get picked up by the cops for doing ths stupidest shit! Go hang out on broadway and watch......

U guys bash on folks like they all bad, like ALL OF THEM are bad, when thats not the case. NOR AM I ONE OF THEM or WILL EVER BE ONE OF THEM! And believe me I know afew cats I wish never got behind a badge and a gun, but the system is not perfect. We got the wrong president, we in IRAQ for all the wrong reasons and I could go on about all this, but this is an opinion.

Basically I gotta follow the rules just like ya'll do, cop or not! But if I break the rules and get found guilty, I get a more severe charge than u do! SO lets not talk about doing stupid shit and getting jail time for it......

Funny thing is: A cop shoots a person and doesn't know what the real story behind the shooting really is except for what you read in the newspaper who also doesnt have the real story either and ya'll automatically call "FOUL" and that cops are out fucking up people!

Cops make split second decisions that could effect their lives, their future and all those involved around them, it's through their eyes when they make that decision, NOT YOURS, NOT A JURY'S, NOT THE NEWS, NO ONES, BUT THEIR EYES. Yet everyone gets hours, days, weeks, months, and even years to analyze a cops judgement and judge them for what they've done!

I agree with alot of military and police when they state: "I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6!"

Why you so quik to call us "Immmature"?Your contradicting yourself when you say you cant say all cops are bad just cause one is.The same thinking should apply to you and your cop buddy's about society.

Also, I agree with what you say about people calling cops when they need em but honestly,we only need you because we "Legally" do.Theres people that take justice into there own hands all the time but in the end if they shoot someone they go to jail unlike you guys. And you say "We only shoot because we felt like our life was threatend".Well, what do you think,Every single person thats killed, killed for fun?People try to protect themselves all the time without needing Cops.So its not about being scared shitless tough guy,its about trying to do the right thing according to the law, plus thats what our taxes pay for.Whats sucks is when you call the cops when your a victim, somehow you become a suspect.

It's been rare that I've gotten harassed by cops for any law I've actually broken which is a shame and man have I been harassed. But I agree if I did get caught, then I would'nt complain for getting a ticket (which is all I would get or have gotten)cause you already know what you did when you see those lights go on.I agree with taking responsibilty for your actions but that goes for cops as well.

When I was taking psychology in college, the Professor worked for the police department and said that cops take a a test based on there thinking and how they would go about certain situations and get hired based on there answers (even though there was supposedly no right or wrong answers). And the question was asked by him "So can we say that all cops think the same? This has always been in my mind since.

in the past year i've been stopped&searched @ least 7 times, arrested: 0, given an explanation: 0,and thats just the past year, its getting ridiculous, @ least
in nyc

just for the record i NEVER call 911,

nice of you to assume that i'm scared, shitless & little

ealier this month my friend got a ticket for crossing the street while the light was on red, i mean it does seem illegal since cars do it and there in danger, but it seems like a big deal, i never knew that
J_Static 3:12 AM 11 December 2007
Josh V: I wasn't quick 2 call everyone immature, I read everyones statement and opinion, and saw one thing ya'll had in common, which is: "ya'll crucifying ALL cops because u had a bad experience, or just talking shit in general, when u don't know jack about the job they do or what they go through!"

Before u talk about a man or his work and life, walk a mile or more in that mans shoes! PERIOD!

And I am not contradicting myself by saying that all cops are not bad just because a few are bad! Cuz doing that would create a label! And all cops don't think all of society is bad because they deal with a few assholes!

Cops become jaded with society because all they see is poverty, crime, blood, beatings, mistreatment of women and children & death! And sometimes its hard NOT to get jaded!

I agree with u that citizens want 2 protect themselves, but there is a need for law & order when some/few people feel like they are above the law or they feel like committing a crime! Also i think u got cops and citizens mixed up!

Citizens state that they shoot or protect themselves because they feared for their lives, cops shoot to stop the threat that is threatening their live or the lives of someone else!

And yes, cops take a pysch test which evaluates their level of thinking along with other issues. Google police pysch test and u will see the 10 areas they look at in a pysch test! I've been through it, its over 1200 questions and some of the ?'S have nothing 2 do with being a cop, but then again I am not a pysch doc!

D.rang: u stated that u wish u had memories of cops getting beaten up! Immature? Yeah in my eyes cuz cop or not I wouldn't want 2 see someone gettin beat unless they deserved it!

I'm sorry that u've been searched and harassed constantly by cops, but I am not them and neither the countless other cops you've never met! Again categorizing us because of one's fuck up is also what makes u immature!

Also the academy hasn't brainwashed me, its taught me and prepared me to deal with life's issues and 2 try help a society that hates me! Honestly ask urself:"could I help someone selflessly that hated everything that I am & doesn't know me at all?"

Ur probably saying No, u wouldn't help that person!

Djchope: Don't know where your from, but walking against a red pedestrian light which tells u that u don't have the right of way, is technically like jaywalking!

Here in cali, pedestrians have more rights than cars, which I think is cool since on the east coast most people would run yo ass over! But if u fuck up as pedestrian, ur gonna get a tix!

Again I don't condone what dirty cops do, because they are wrong and they are making my future career that much harder to do, not to mention deal with society when society has been done wrong by these cops!

Only under special circumstances, right!?

Doesn't matter what time it is Bro! I'm a citizen also pal and again I've done some stupid things 2 get in trouble & knocked around by some asshole cop, but I admit that I was being stupid & maybe deserved it!

So maybe for everyone here in this thread that swears up and down they got screwed by cops for drunk in public, tix etc, maybe the law should create a "guilty by stupidity" sentencing and the punishment should be a small fine and a stern "don't do it again"

what about the countless times i've seen a cop blow a red light, or put on his lights & pull a u-turn only to pull into dunkin donuts or mcdonalds, or block the same pump they'd give someone a ticket for blocking just to go into a pizzeria, just like the person who got the ticket did i've seen each of these situations more than once and in other states(except the pizzeria)

or what about the cops who wanna scream @ me for being high, when he's stinkin like alcohol(and driving), all mad cause he can't find the weed cause we already smoked it(that happened 2x, different cops), now i those situations we were wrong for smoking, but they wouldn't have smelled smoke if we weren't stopped for no reason, and that was like 8 years ago

i don't complain when i have to enter oncoming traffic, to go around the 3 cop cars triple parked, every night @ the same time, because maybe they're talking business, but they're probablly talking about the yankees

you gotta look @ both sides of the coin, its not only the cops who are jaded to society, society is jaded toward cops thru years of tradition and a blue wall of silence.good luck tryin to change that, i've always said that the people who should become cops never do.

no one is forcing you to become a cop, everyone knows its a thankless job, but no one is holding a gun to these jaded cops heads if you don't like your job, or feel that you need to be corrupt, than quit, but don't expect people to feel bad for them

@ Static - You seem like a decent brare but I disagree with alot of what you say. The fact of the matter is police over here for the most part have there priorities fucked up and I'm sure it's the same in the US too. Whether that comes from higher up the chain where they are given silly targets to meet is something I can't really comment on. I'm sure most people who want to become police do not do it so they can sit in a bush or a layby somewhere with a speed camera and giving out tickets. But the fact of the matter is that's the perception of the police by the majority of the law abiding public.

Yeah we can all blurt on about how crime is crime, but there is a massive scale and getting a ticket or points on your license for not fully stopping at a red light is a kick in the teeth when you know that some old lady had her house broken into or some old man has been conned out of his life savings or whatever more serious crime that has gone unsolved that week.
JimboJones 10:23 AM 11 December 2007
A few years back when I was working at Maccy D's I'd have to leave the house at 5am to walk to work with a bag with my uniform in it. It was winter and I'd be wearing my woolly hat and puffa jacket, probably trainers and dark jeans as well. Over a four month period, I was stopped by the rozzers 14 times. I'd be walking along, I'd see the car pull up next to me, and I'd get "Where are you going then?" Following that would be a three or four minute conversation about who I was, where I'd come from, what was in the bag and where I was going. (This conversation got shorter the more often it happened). Long and the short of it, I lived in a shit area and looked like a criminal, walking along at 5am with a bag of 'stuff'.

Anyways, my point is - the police were doing their job. And that's what they do the majority of the time in my experience. However, I'm in a minority among my mates, 90% of whom have some negative experiences of the Old Bill, ranging from being stopped regularly due to them being black (how many 6'6" bald black guys with beards wearing glasses live in the town where I live? Not many), being arrested and held on threatening behaviour towards a police officer charges (only for the charges to be dropped), being chased through Pizza Hut (over the counter and out the back, only to be beaten up in the car park out back), drug offences etc. Now don't get me wrong, most of these things are due to my mates being anti-social... haha (apart from one of my mates being stopped purely cos of his appearance.)

Personally, I don't go out of my way to make trouble, and I don't do anything illegal in public, which is why I think I've not had much bother with the boys in blue. Me and my missus have never been stopped while she's been driving - she doesn't speed, she drives carefully, and she sticks to the rules of the road. That's not to imply that anyone on this board DOES go out of their way to make trouble, etc etc, you know what I'm saying.

The Old Bill seem to have some priority problems, but that comes up from their bosses and whatever the fuckin government want to focus on, rather than from some innate urge to chase speeding drivers instead of granny rapers or paedos. Personally I feel that over here (in my experience) they do their job... which is what they're paid for.
Caramac 10:41 AM 11 December 2007
@ Jimbo - I disagree with you too. lol.

Seriously though I just find them to be a pain. But I think that it's more due to targets from upper management rather then their want to be arseholes to people.

But yeah ultimately they are doing their job. Their job is to enforce the law and if speeding is a law and they enforce the law by catching people who speed then they are doing their job. It's just that at the end of the day the majority of the public will probably agree there are far worse crimes they would rather the police spent time solving.

And I suppose what pisses people off the most. Me in particular is that it's a service that we pay for.

But yeah I've met plenty of good police in my life, but I've met plenty of crap police as well.

It is entertaining and somewhat laughable, but I blame dirty cops and other law enforcement f*cks and partially the system itself for the way cops are looked at.

when i say that EVERY cop i have ever come across(in the street, family friends, childhood friends, and in all cities) are extremely arrogant, and yeah i think they teach that shit @ the academy.

D.range I understand where your coming from, but the 7-10 times a year you get screwed with even though it's DEAD WRONG whatever the case may be, it still doesn't mean that ALL COPS, meaning ALL COPS THROUGHOUT ALL CITIES, STATES, etc are fucked up, arrogant, etc. etc. etc. GET ME?

I agree with you that some cops get a hard on when screwing with people, I see it on the streets outside the clubs and its irritating cuz these club goers (or at least the majority) are out of for a good time and get harassed.....

Quote:

My common sense tells me otherwise bro......Influenced maybe, but I make my own decision, and I'd be quick to leave this job if I ever felt I had to do something that I didn't want to do that was severely wrong.....

Quote:
you're right that would be immature, IF, it was only once, or twice, or maybe 5 times, but 7 times this year?? and thats not counting the past 10 years

Again that is immature because your accounting for all the cops that you've had contact with and the ones you haven't, basically ALL COPS! Now if you said: "Officer Cock holster from eastside queens, and Officer Bacon from Spanish Harlem, etc. etc." then you'd be fine in my eyes, but everyone in here is screaming "COPS" period. COPS as in plural, more than one, and when someone says cops it's not ONE, it's all. Someone in here mentioned NY cops, so they narrowed it down to one state, and I already know how f*cked up that dept is..... But it's fucked up all over.....

It's sad cuz if I had to put a percentage on this topic, I'd say 70% (benefit of the doubt, it maybe more) are fucked up arrogant assholes, etc) and there's the 30% that are trying to do the job correctly and getting screwed.

Quote:
what about the countless times i've seen a cop blow a red light, or put on his lights & pull a u-turn only to pull into dunkin donuts or mcdonalds, or block the same pump they'd give someone a ticket for blocking just to go into a pizzeria, just like the person who got the ticket did i've seen each of these situations more than once and in other states(except the pizzeria)

Until just recently, having been on tons of ride-a-longs with depts I'm interested in working for, I thought the same thing. These fools are using their emergency lights to run through intersections only to turn them off after clearing the intersection. However, I learned that they may get a call, have to go through that intersection and right after clearing the intersection and making it to the next block they are called off that call. And if you research the vehicle code book and when an officer can use the emergency lights and siren, it's few and far between. Plus that's also outside of the scope of what their dept rules state they can use their lights for. Cops are held to follow those rules especially the rules of the road....

And then again like U, I've actually had it proven to me that some of them abuse the use of those lights to blow intersections to get to the doughnut shop etc just a little bit faster. It's B.S. and I'm with you on that, but then again , NOT ALL COPS DO THIS.

Quote:
what about the cops who wanna scream @ me for being high, when he's stinkin like alcohol(and driving), all mad cause he can't find the weed cause we already smoked it(that happened 2x, different cops), now i those situations we were wrong for smoking, but they wouldn't have smelled smoke if we weren't stopped for no reason [/quote

I see both side of this situation because I use to smoke. And I've gotten the 3rd degree for it as well. Its sad to hear you got screwed with for no reason and it's even more sad to know there's more cops out there under the influence when they are suppose to enforce that rule. At least you admit you were wrong in these situations(shows maturity), and again ur correct they wouldnt have known had they not stopped you for no reason. But what if you gave them the slightest reason....

Quote:

you gotta look @ both sides of the coin, its not only the cops who are jaded to society, society is jaded toward cops thru years of tradition and a blue wall of silence.good luck tryin to change that, i've always said that the people who should become cops never do.

Good point and totally agreed with! I see it in law enforcements history that society's views have been created due to this. Changing this is not technically my job, my job is to do my job properly and professionally and show that at least afew of us are not bad apples. And I agree with your last statement because I know more dickheads who are cops compared to those of my friends who I think would make fair and decent cops. Again the percentages are fuckin imbalanced.

Quote:
no one is forcing you to become a cop, everyone knows its a thankless job

Agreed about no one is forcing me to become one, and I am well aware of that. But I know this is something I have wanted to do since I was a kid. I have a thing for helping people in dire need, granted I do enjoy the occasional adrenaline rush I get from chasing folks and the occasional physical encounter, but its not the reason why I chose this career.

the thankless job part, man u sound like my father. And for everyone to know a part of my personal life: I was disowned by my father because of my choice in careers. He hates cops, doesn't care for them, and thinks the same thing: Thankless job with no appreciation. Granted he might want something better for his son, but this is MY LIFE, not his and I will not validate why I want to do this job to him because I won't allow him to live his life through me vicariously because he fucked up his young live and ambitions. END OF STORY

@ Caramac - Totally agreed with, 100%! The system is totally flawed when major crimes are given a slap on the wrist, and small crimes have the book thrown at them. Small street level drug dealers do major fed time, when major drug dealers get off with a slap on the wrist. It's a revolving door: The guy I arrest today, I will see on the street again at the end of the week depending on the circumstances. I also believe alot of people are in jail for petty stuff when major criminals should be locked up.

@ JimboJones - Well spoken playa, couldn't agree more, especially the last paragraph.

Back to Caramac - U seriously find them to be pain, but then again your taking the majority of cops into the scope of things when you say that, when you only mean the few you've dealt with, unless you hate all cops in general and find them all to be a pain. Really think about how this place would be without some type of law or rules....

I'd go live in another country if that were the case: lawlessness is dangerous, period, for many reasons that would make this thread surpass Sixxx's "You DJ so bad" thread.... But u get my point.....

I'm not defending all law enforcement, I'm defending myself and those I know and do not know who are out there just doing their job and effecting the law courteously, appropriately and fairly..... PERIOD

@ Static - Yeah it's a bit of a generalisation. I live a pretty law abiding life and have so far (touch wood) had no real reason to call for a policeman so my only dealings like a lot of my friends (black) is from a negative view point. ie; stop and searches when we're out.

To be fair though I'm pretty civil when I talk to people so when I have been pulled over in the past and searched most of them end up apologising and send me on my way. I tend to get hassle when I'm on the way back from the club. I look really really young and driving some big boy cars I suppose I look like a joyrider. When I'm on the way to work in a suit I don't get a second look.

I told a cop when he asked me what was in my record flight case: "What's in the case"

Reply: "Bomb making tools, that's why its in a case like this, NO u moron it's RECORDS, u know Vinyl!"

His reply: "U looking for trouble?"

Mine: "Nope, but your looking for a stupid ass response to your stupid ass question, have a nice night officer, by the way my friend next to me has a video camera, try something......

This was years ago, and yes I was provoking him because it was the same shithead on the corner at a local club spot always looking to screw with people minding their own business.

@ Static - I tend to get things like that. I've never had any real major problems with police. One time one police officer wanted to take me back to the station because of a driving issue. But luckily the female officer stepped in and calmed it down.

I remember a friend of mine and her friend were drunk and decided to drive to the nearby convenience store to get more beer (easy walking distance). The girl who was driving ran up on the curb when turning into the parking lot, cops saw her, pulled them over, gave her a breathalizer (which she failed miserably), gave her a DWI & impounded her car. She (the driver) kind of took it in stride, but her friend (the equally drunk passenger) dropped the "there are rapists & thieves out there and you're messing with us when we're not hurting anybody" line, as if it was the cops who were wrong for getting an obviously drunk driver off the road.

Ever since then, whenever somebody uses that line after they get busted, I can't help but take it with a grain of salt.

I wasnt crucifying all cops and I didnt just have "A" bad experience but many. And no, Im not talking about the crimes I Did cause I deserved every ticket Ive ever recieved from an officer.I want to be clear on that.Im talking about being harassed for just hanging out in front of my house or having guns to my face by the LAPD for no reason other than Im mexican with a fade (bald). And no,I dont dress like a gangster at all.If every one that fits this discriptions is gonna get judged then evryone with a badge is gonna get judged.Sound fair?I agree bout walkin in others shoes but those shoes,I wouldnt want to walk in.but the same should go for cops.walk in our shoes for once.but your not looking at the other side.

Agreed but the same goes for cops and yourself. This is what Im meant by "contradicting".A cop that grew up in the hood has walked the shoes but not the cop that grew up rich. But I will say its the one from the hood that seem to be more of Assholes. It can be racial but Its always seems to be your own that give you a hard time,Most my troubles have not been from white cops but by hispanics.I dont know whats up with that one.

And I am not contradicting myself by saying that all cops are not bad just because a few are bad! Cuz doing that would create a label! And all cops don't think all of society is bad because they deal with a few assholes!
I was not reffering to this.See above quote.

Quote:
Cops become jaded with society because all they see is poverty, crime, blood, beatings, mistreatment of women and children & death! And sometimes its hard NOT to get jaded!

Quote:

I think not.

Quote:
Citizens state that they shoot or protect themselves because they feared for their lives, cops shoot to stop the threat that is threatening their live or the lives of someone else!
it goes both ways, funny to see you try to make it sound all proffesional and justify when the cops do the same thing, somehow its different just cause there cops.Somone stated that cops are Human too so that means they also have fear and will and have shot someone for that reason.

Quote:
And yes, cops take a pysch test which evaluates their level of thinking along with other issues. Google police pysch test and u will see the 10 areas they look at in a pysch test! I've been through it, its over 1200 questions and some of the ?'S have nothing 2 do with being a cop, but then again I am not a pysch doc!

So they do all think the same?

Its seems you may just be one of the few who would make a honest cop and I wish you the best of luck in that, sincerly. But we all have a choice as far as careers so there should be no excuse when you get exposed to things other people see everyday.Nobody has a choice where there born into allthough,YES, they do have a choice to to get away or not follow the path whatever that may be.

You yourself admitted that there are more bad cops than good based on your percentage rating. It might suck to generalize but just like the lottery, sure there have been a lot of winners but most people are waisting there money and I hate waisting my money on things that are not gonna benifet me or the people I care about be it the Lotto or cops.

I also know for a fact the SDEA (Scottish Drug Enforcement Agency) busted someone i know who was in posession of 10kg, yet when he appeared at court there was only 8kg! Draw you own conclousion of where the otehr 2 click went....

My view on this is that the police are there to protect & serve all those who do so are doing a good job but anyone who abuses the power thats been given to them should be locked up & made to wear that uniform while being locked up!

Sounds a lil' harsh?

It would soon knock the corruptness out of the police force!

cops are your friends most of the time.

I agree that there are some bad ones out.

Example: Daly City, Calif - drove into the starbucks to drop off my friend, no where to park and had to make a U turn out. decided to drive into handicap space so I wouldn't have to back out. cop drove right behind me so i couldn't back up and gave me a ticket for parking in a handicap zone.

Good Example: drunk driving, didn't pass sobriety test, but still let go but I was a law student and had not criminal record.

hahaha...thats funny. You know though, I mean, you have no criminal record, ur a law student yada yada, that doesn't make him a good cop for letting you go. makes him a bad cop, cuz, what if......key word being "what if" you went on and got into a head on collision.

The one who wrote u a ticket. Thats a good cop. Law first.

J_Static 1:45 AM 13 December 2007
Latin if ur ever in Norcal hit me up! We can definetly have a drink, or 2 or 3!

Blisk is right, Daly City PD are a bunch of assholes! One tried 2 pick a fight with me inline at the In&Out burger cuz I was wearing a SFPD Hang Task Force shirt and I Happened to be with an SFPD officer who was off duty! And this daly city officer was in uniform!

This was like 4 years ago, I just laughed @ him, grabbed my food & we left! DCPD hates SFPD cuz they wanna be SF, but SF won't ever pick them up!

And whoever made the hipster/Starbucks comment can kiss my ass cuz I'm a Starbucks fan, but I ain't a dirty little hipster! That was funny though involving the fashion show comment!

And I Know what sbux blisk is talking about in DC cuz its not a hipster hangout, but Asians and they're suped up motorcycles hang out there!

hmm...stop hangin on the corner maybe? i dunno. disassociate from that crowd if you dont like the heat u get from cops. some things will never go away so you either find ways around it or get away from it.

what if you live @ that corner, i guess you should lock yourself in the house

true

yo static, it seems like cooler heads have prevailed, and i'm starting to understand(not necessarily agree) with your points but look at it this way:
if someone came to me and was like oh, you're a dj, i hate dj's they're all assholes, i'd be pissed, cause i kno that i'm not an asshole and most of the djs i kno and learned from aren't, but if every dj that this person dealt with EVER was an asshole, i can't call him a liar...if seriously every cop i've ever dealt with is on asshole(on or off duty) isn't it safe for me to say they are all assholes??

i encourage you to move to nyc and get into internal affairs and shake this whole city up, the sad thing is it would take more than just one person

the biggest thing you said that i agree with is:
Quote:
That urks me to no end....Why bother me when I'm in jeans and a t-shirt coming out the club after DJ'ing asking whats in my record cases and backpack, but when I'm in a suit and tie for whatever reason I get a smile and a handshake.

Fuck that

cause 90% of the time when i'm on my way home from the club i walk the last 5-10 blocks so i can smoke a blunt(i don't drink, or drink&drive, but my liscence is suspended for unpaid tix)so i'll be walking, well dressed smokin a fat blunt & the cops just drive by, but when i'm walkin doin nothin with a fitted or a hoody or bubblejacket i get stopped for no reason. now i could call that racial profiling, but i'm white, so i like to call it HIP-HOP PROFILING

i also see that u mentioned the adrenaline rush u get, answer me this, do u get mad when you think you've got someone and it turns out that they're clean?? cause the cops i deal with seem to get madder and madder, as they don't find anything and finally have to let you go. shouldn't you be happy that the person you just stopped is clean, or would you prefer that i had something on me??

U could say that but you would have to say that it's ALL the cops that you have had a run in with, NOT ALL, just those who I have had run-ins with......Get it?

Cooler heads prevail and this is another reason why I think I'll be a decent cop, cuz I get mad like any other human, but I deal differently.....

Quote:

hahaha, that city's dept needs a major shake up, maybe the feds could move into that dept and just run amok in there straightening things out...... I use to assist on internal investigations interviews with employees when I worked at Nordstrom, fun thing to do, but it was odd watching people try to lie their way out of things, then break down and flip out.....

I agree with you on the Hip-Hop profiling thing, but it only happens majorly in N.Y. Out here in Cali, not so much!

Quote:

Not really, I've dealt with some stupid ass criminals and if they would've kept their mouths shut, they would've walked! But you can bluff the hell outta most of them..... Then there are some that I have dealt with that I was happy were clean or weren't going to be taken in by me cuz I told tell by their demeanor that they wouldn't go quietly without a fight, and most of these dudes looked like they'd mop the floor with me.......

But mad, nah, not worth my anger, just realize that I will get them next time I deal with them............

One thing I learned catching shoplifters, and dealing with criminals on a constant basis, when it comes down to the fight (Sorry fella's), it's the FEMALES who can fight........Dudes just run

See when approaching a female and getting ready for the arrest, when the fight occurs/starts I've learned from experience that these bitches ain't fighting me to get away, they are FIGHTING ME to FIGHT!!!

Dudes I have dealt with and have had to fought are quick to PUNCH AND RUN! Females would rather stay and fight, and I have the stories and scares to prove it......

djbriguy 6:01 PM 13 December 2007
k..

I never said all cops suck...

But you never replied to MY statement of my cop story:

How do u explain this?
{qiote]So there was a cop in my home town who is my Dad's cousin...

Fuckin family member is a pigg too.
djbriguy 6:03 PM 13 December 2007
^^point of the story is, i NEVER used his name to get out of trouble... The cop would pull me over, or confront me in a crowd... when it got to the point that he asked for I.D., he would look at it and say "are you related to Steve?" I'd say yes... (which ISNT a lie) and they'd say "Ok, have a good night"
deejay barber 6:04 PM 13 December 2007
I have to say, everyone is entitled for the opinion. But real talk, I have never been arrested for anything I didn't do.

Most of the cops who have arrested me were pretty cool. I get that they are just doing their jobs. There was one who was a little pushy about weed in my car ish, but the guy who took me to the station and booked was pretty funny.
J_Static 6:05 PM 13 December 2007
Bri that guy made it look like you were throwing the other dudes name around to get out of stuff, so he screwed you which was WRONG!

Latindj, holla at a playa man! We gonna be celebrating over at ICON where Audio1's gonna be at on saturday.......Club/Bar hopping first then ICON for the FINALE!

Drunkness will occur!
djbriguy 6:07 PM 13 December 2007
So, I watch "COPS" sometimes... and I see cops pull over guys for speeding or something minor, and they find a small amount of weed in the car. Sometimes the cop is cool, and says "I'm taking this from you, and letting you go since its a small amount"

Do the cops have to turn in the weed and write it in their report? And if so, what happens to the person they let go if they report that it was found in their car?
J_Static 6:11 PM 13 December 2007
Depends on policy and procedures of the DEPT, oh and letting someone go for the small amount of weed depends on the state your in! Some depts will throw the book at yo ass!

I haven't found out what occurs with the "evidence" when someone is given a warning and released...... Cops tell dispatch that they made contact with someone and possibly that they found drugs on them, so it's documented in dispatch, so there's gotta be a report in my eyes....
djbriguy 6:14 PM 13 December 2007
Another cop question, but im sure it varies from state to state.

I heard that if a cop is radaring, he has to have at LEAST his marker lights on... (basically, not sitting in the trees with all of his lights out) Is that true? I dont believe it, cuz every cop i see has all of his lights off.
