This band on myspace said that they want me as their top friend and want my email address. Is there any danger in giving out an email address to someone you don't know? I don't care if I get spam mail from them or anything I just don't want to be tracked somehow.

If you worried about it just create another account real quick with fake info and give them that email addy. They are probably just adding you to the mailing list so they can spam you with event info.
