I've been searching for result and got no answer so thats why i turn to the forum for help to make a decision between the ddj-s1 and numark ns6.which one is better?
haze324 10:52 PM - 7 February, 2012
There was a post just like this one last week. Just search thru this forum...there are tons of good posts on the subject. Even reviews on each to help you decide.
DJ Baby Raj 10:53 PM - 7 February, 2012
I just noticed your name.. Delano from Renaissance sound? I use to own all your mix cds until now... Big sound lol...

Well i'll tell you from my experience I was in your exact same shoes a couple of months ago... I bought the NS6 and returned it for the DDJ-S1 and never looked back!

I also mix Dancehall reggae and you really don't need 4 decks.... The NS6 felt cheaper IMO and the DDJ-S1 sounded much better through my speakers. Everyone will have their own opinion but I owned both and like the DDJ-S1 over the NS6.
DELANO RENAISSANCE 10:59 PM - 7 February, 2012
well since u know me thats good,i'm willing to take advice from others.lol.I was leaning 2wards the ddj-s1 cuz of pioneer reputation, the only thing i like about the ns6 is that its a stand alone mixer. I want to buy a controller like now but want to make sure im buying the rite one also i was playing with the ergo and dats like a toy and such a turn off.
DJ Laurex 11:01 PM - 7 February, 2012
I cosign on the DDJ-S1 as a Dancehall DJ. I used both but I bought the DDJ.In my opinion much better machine and considering that you can get both for about the same price pioneer wins hands down.
DJ Baby Raj 11:02 PM - 7 February, 2012
Yeah the Ergo is very limited. the DDJ-S1 is the PRO for pioneer in the midi world. Like I said the build and quality is nothing to compare when it comes to Pioneer. Both have their pros and cons the NS6 has more options as a stand alone mixer. the DDJ-S1 does the job for any live jugglin. The platters on the DDJ-S1 will last you a long time the NS6 will break.
DJ Baby Raj 11:03 PM - 7 February, 2012
BTW

Big up Jazzy T lol
DELANO RENAISSANCE 11:05 PM - 7 February, 2012
so u still use the key board on the comp to trigger the sampler in itch or u assign it to ddj-s1?
DJ Laurex 11:05 PM - 7 February, 2012
Assign it to itch just like in SL.
DJ Baby Raj 11:05 PM - 7 February, 2012
I use the keyboard it works for me.. But you can assign the cue points buttons on the DDJ-S1 to tiger each sample channel which works nice also.
DELANO RENAISSANCE 11:12 PM - 7 February, 2012

We still a do d work,me ready for d road again and productions so i looking new toys.lol
DJ Laurex 11:41 PM - 7 February, 2012
You won't regret that DDJ especially if you like pioneer and they have a travel bag for those tours which you can put on your back as carryon unless you prefer the hard case which you may have to check....BTW I am spinning at a wedding in JA this summer and am taking my DDJ.
Luciano DJLM 11:44 PM - 7 February, 2012
They are both great controllers with pro's and cons to both of them. Defenitly research and the best advise is to try them both if you have that option. Best of luck.
SG SOUNDS 3:44 AM - 8 February, 2012
Yo delano you better off with the ns6..I too play dancehall and the ns6 have more to offer than the ddj....As far as sound quality the ns6 sound output is awesome and frikin loooouuudddd!!! I know you guys do alot of remixes and the 4 deck mixing on the ns6 come in very handy for that you could be doing remixes on the fly with the 4 decks..another important feature is the stand alone mixer and also the booth output that the ddj dont have. The ns6 is built strong and also has a professional look to it..Everytime i play out with it soundmen always compliment on it and also the remixes i can do with it on the fly. Any one who plays after me always sound flat because the 4 deck mixing brings more energy.YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED TRUST ME!!!! 4 DECKS TAKES YOUR MIXES TO ANOTHER LEVEL!!
DELANO RENAISSANCE 4:07 AM - 8 February, 2012
ok now i'm cofuse.lol
haze324 4:20 AM - 8 February, 2012
Well the good thing is most people that own either one....really like the one they choose!

Here are two good threads to read on.

Exactly, that's why it best to just go demo them both and go by what feels best to you. Also keeping in mind what features you desire. They're both sweet controllers though, so opinions will be all over the place with good points being made on both.
Dj Ricky Redz 6:17 PM - 8 February, 2012
@delano the ns6 main features to me is the stand alone mixer and 4 decks. normally us jamaican djs would go for pioneer because of tradition, but heres my view
ddj pros
1) cue/play buttons on the ddj are basically built to feel like the ones on the cdjs
2) ddj has the classic deck/mixer layout e.i. pitch faders to the right of each deck and cue/play on the left
3) i guess you would be more accustomed to the platter on the ddj as its the same feel as the cdj 350/400
4) the mixer layout on the ddj is similar to that of the djm 400 mixer

ns6 pros
1) stand alone mixer
2) 4 deck control (live remix on the fly!!! :D know a your ting dat)
3) the deck feel stronger than the ddj

thats all i can come up with now but the best ting to do is try b4 u buy. i own the ns7 and v7+x5 setup so i would say numark all the way
DJ Laurex 9:39 PM - 8 February, 2012
I don't do much remixes so you got me there but the DDJ Play Pause and Cue buttons are for me more superior and I use the RCA OUT for my BOOTH OUT but you will have to go demo them and get a feel for it.If you like Pioneer you don't need to demo the DDJ because it feels the same but you have to demo the NS6 and if you in BK you can go see Lincoln @ VIP on Rockaway Ave in Canarsie. They have a NS6 out for demo.
DELANO RENAISSANCE 10:33 PM - 8 February, 2012
ok ppl pioneer ddj-s1 win.lol
i try the numark ns6 and pioneer ddj-s1 2day and the pioneer feel much better, only advantage ns6 have is 4 decks,i never liked numark mixers so i dont care about the stand alone mixer.
ns6 pitch range jump from 8 to 16 which professionals djs dont like,
the pioneer pitch rage from 8 to 10 to 16,dats great.
pioneer sounds cleaner
pioneer keys are more spaced out
DJ Laurex 1:14 AM - 9 February, 2012
Funny you mentioned that pitch range difference because I never got that far with the ns6 but yep that 8 to 16 jump is a no no.
