I mentioned this in another thread but now that its been happening for a while, I can make a more accurate thread on this. When ever I go to scroll through the songs in a crate, everything lags up very badly. The scrolling through the songs will lag for up to 2 seconds and the wave form will lag also. I noticed this only seems to happen when I'm at the top of the list of songs in the crate. When I get to the center or even a quarter of the way through, it stops lagging. This happens in every single crate I have, whether it has sub crates or not. The only time it doesn't happen is when I'm in the "ALL" crate. What could be causing this?

Anybody have any ideas? Would it help if I posted a video of what's going on? I really have no idea what's going on. If I make new crates that correspond to the old crates, put the songs in their and delete the old crates, would this fix the problem?

I have approximately 15 or so, give or take a few. Including subcrates, maybe 6-8 more

Thanks for the info.

My computer is a 13" macbook pro with the 750 gb hard drive, dual core 2.8Ghz i7 processor 4 gigs of ram, and I believe it has the most recent version of OSX. I bought the laptop in November I believe and has been working beautifully with serato since. Just recently, I un-checked read itunes library, imported all my music through the files tab, and re-sorted/organized all my music, putting them into their appropriate crates, which were the same crates I used when I had serato reading my itunes library. It was then when this problem started.

Let's try reverting to your Serato backup folder.
Keep Scratch Live closed
Open Finder by clicking on the double face icon found in the Dock at the bottom of your screen
Go into your home Music folder
Locate and rename the _Serato_ folder to OLD_Serato_
Locate and rename the _Serato_backup folder by taking off the 'backup' so that it reads _Serato_
If using an external drive, open the external locate and rename the _Serato_ folder to OLD_Serato_
Locate and rename the _Serato_backup folder by taking off the word 'backup' so that it reads _Serato_
Restart SSL
Any better?

I tried this and, checked to make sure I did it right 3 times, and when I open serato, everything is missing. No songs, no crates. According to my music folder, my back up serato folder hasn't been updated at all, so I don't think any of the information is on it

OK, simply revert back to your original _Serato_ folder (with SSL closed) to get your previous library back.

Okay I did this. The problem is still present though. I noticed it takes longer for serato to load tracks and crates when opened also. Not much longer, but longer then before I stopped using iTunes.

Quick question, are you using an external hard drive to store music?

I have everything backed up onto an external hard drive but I don't use it, its just for back up. When I get more music, I'll end up using a firewire external hard drive

Please try this:
Close SSL
Open your Macintosh hard drive.
Open your User Home folder
Open your Music folder
Open the _Serato_ folder
Locate and rename the History folder to Old_History
Locate and Rename the databaseV2 file to Old_databaseV2
Restart SSL and allow the library to load (it may take a while as SSL rebuilds the databaseV2 file)
After SSL finishes loading, retest your system

Hey. Sorry for taking so long to respond to this, I've been un-godly busy this past week.
I'm trying this now, it's currently rebuilding the library. I'll get back to you as soon as it's done to let you know if it worked

Just finished rebuilding and the lag is still there. Everything is running identical to before. It's truly a mystery. I wish there was a way for you to see what I'm seeing. Any other ideas?

Please attach copies if your _Serato_ folders to this thread and I'll try to reproduce the issue on a couple computers here at Rane :)
If possible, please upload/attach a video of the problem to this thread and I'll take a look.
