Portable Controller or Rane 57??

Boutique Sound 12:52 AM - 6 February, 2012
I'm getting into Gentleman's Club DJing and am looking for a practical alternative to bringing my 57 and Tech 1200's, i sold my sl 1 box and have all my music in serato/itunes on my macbook pro.

What's the best portable system out there?? not too big or bulky, i use cue points and do some scratching and need 1 good mic input.

Does itch suck?? i've never used it or even seen it .. I've been on sl 1 since it came out.

Or is there any other software that will preserve my cue points and tags that I should go to without a controller ... e.g. Virtual DJ, PC DJ, etc.

Any thoughts help, this would be a controller I'd have to bring with me a few days a week for work so it has to be portable and lightweight.

i'm heavily leaning towards the new pioneer controller

NS6 or Pioneer ddj s1 will do you just fine

i like the pioneer for its size, i can just carry it in the trunk and i can leave the heavy gear at home

Denon 6000....but you need a SL box again. Can't remember if it can do phono levels. But there's tons of midi mappable buttons on it. And 2 mics.

Itch doesn't suck too bad...but I still prefer scratchlive over it.

Most portable Itch controller by far and since you didn't mention scratching, but mostly cue points, this will fit right into what you are trying to do.

ScatchIng is awesome on the vci 300 especially with the optional cf2 cross fader
