he used to be one of my favorite rappers until
i entered a dj competion to be nas tour dj here in detroit ( the shelter ) last year and he showed up and talked for a few minutes and then he went back stage into a room to talk to people.so everyone formed a line i was like #2 in line.the people keeping charge of letting people back stage where his people.so anyways they let 50 people ahead of me and im still standing there so i ask this lady can i meet nas----- she looks at me and says nas dont like white people. (((( this shit almost blew my mine )))).i thought maybe i was hearing things i tell her what did you say she responds back he dont like white people .i say are you fuckin kiddind me ? i was in this dj competition and you cant let me back there to holla at one of my favorite artist? she responds back i said no.by this time 100 people went before me.
so anyways by this time im mad as fuck! im ready to put this bitch in a head lock.but all i did was walk away angry and confused.
now before i say this i thought this out
one i grew up in a neighborhood where i was one of the only white kids ( mostly mexican and black ).so my best friends where mexican,black and white.i dont see color im not racist i love all people if there good people with good intentions.so many times i have had racist people say shit and do shit.i dont understand all this hatred! its crazzy.

all the local urban radio stations where in the house along with record labels and other spectators.

in the spin off you get 3 minutes to mix,scratch,beat juggle and they judge on music selection.
they where 5 dj's.
i was the only one who used vinyl.everyone else used serato.which i did not know you could of used serato because i would of brought my stuff if i knew.i past the first round and the second round so in the finals i go against probably one of the best hip hop dj's in michigan ( which i battled him like 8 yrs ago also ) so im all amped like this guy beat me 8 yrs ago and here we go agian. so anyways i get up there and start with a diss then beat juggle,mix out of a song scratch for like one minute and end it with a outro.it went ok not as clean as it should have been but im confident.then he gets up there and scratches over the same beat for 3 minutes (( he was tight scratching )) but they judge on different elements of djing also .so im feeling ok until they say i took 2 place!
which i can deal with becuse i was battling a bad ass dj who has alot of skillz.**** like they always say loosing makes you try harder ****

but for all the other stuff after has changed how i feel toward nas.
on top of this im hearing his next cd release will be named something very ignorant.

Nah, shadow I feel ya though, sometimes people just get so caught up in appearances that it clouds their vision. I'm sure if Nas was able to get up with you, than I bet dude would have had a better appriciation. I've met him once, a guy I know works as an engineer for him. He's pretty savvy.
