Moved itunes library from internal hd to external hd. Pointed itunes to pick up media from external drive - Itunes works fine as long as external hd is plugged in. When I opened scratch live I found all tracks where highlighted red so attempted to use the "relocate files" utility by dragging the folder (external drive/itunes) to the button. It scans but tracks remain not found???? Please help

Hey Ian,
So you are you having SSL read your iTunes library?
Your saying all the files in the blue iTunes LIBRARY folder that shows up in the crate section aren't playable?
The relocate lost files feature will not locate files that are within that folder/playlists.
It will only locate files that are in crates or files within the 'all' section that do not have an iTunes logo next to them.
To locate the files within your crates, uncheck the 'read iTunes library' option and try relocating by dragging/dropping the folder your music is stored in on your external drive directly onto the relocate lost files tab.
That should find everything within your crates as long as the files are actually within the folder your trying to relocate from.
As for iTunes.. SSL should automatically be reading what iTunes is reading.
Are you sure iTunes is reading everything?

Ok i thought I could use Relocate Lost Files for the itunes files in order to point them to external drive rather than local hd (using the location field in SSL i can see that all the itunes files are missing because they are pointing to local user rather than the external drive where the itunes folder currently resides) I assumed that if ITunes worked ok after migrating to external drive that SSL would pick it up automatically but its almost as if SSL is not mapping to the new library???? Hope that makes sense.
Also after unchecking the Read Itunes Library in SSL setup and relocating files, this does work for the SSL Crates - tracks in the crates are playing fine and the location field shows its looking at the external hd. Problem is, this is probably only a 10th of music library if I then try to check the Read Itunes library it shows all the music but as before file not found when i want to play

I think what i need to do is get SSL to read the itunes library on the external hd rather than the local hd where files were previously stored???

Ya.. sounds like SSL is reading the library from the internal drive.
Did you move the entire iTunes folder to your external?
If so, shut down all programs (SSL and iTunes), open the iTunes folder on the external, and double click on the iTunesLibrary.itl file (iTunes's database file).
This will open iTunes and it will read that particular database.
Once done, verify that everything is playable in iTunes and then shut down iTunes completely.
Now open SSL.
Any luck?
