Using either a Lemur or nanoKontrol fader assigned to the DJ fx selection menu or video fx quick select knob, I get erratic, jumpy behavior that makes it hard to select things.

Shouldn't the top of the fader (CC value 0) be the first item on the list, and the bottom of the fader (CC value 127) be the last item? This would enable programming buttons to send CC values that jump directly to favorite fx or transitions within that list.

The MIDI assign box recognizes the controller as absolute, but then it goes crazy when you send it absolute messages.

I could be making page after page of crazy custom Lemur controls if I could only control the lists with absolute CC values.

Once you midi map the control (and you see the green dialogue box) press the c button on your keyboard to change how the midi messages are being seen by SSL.
One of those options should be fluid.

OK - big correction - this is a VSL problem only.

VSL FX & transition select menus are pretty much non-funtional when you send them absolute MIDI messages.

I did try yr advice, Zach, but I didn't think it would work and it didn't. I could imagine changing the message type would help if the controller was sending a relative message of one kind or another, but I'm talking about absolute messages. In that case, sending a value of 0 along a given CC should put you at one end of the list, sending 127 would put you at the other, and 64 would land you in the middle.

So the correction to my first post is that the DJ FX work fine, but scrolling VSL lists is broken.

Oh, and I have been testing controller behavior with different controllers (nanoKontrol, Lemur, Maschine) and using Ableton to confirm the messages from each. I've been using the Lemur with all kinds of software for 6 years or so now, so my rig and programming should be sound.

Hi XRM5,

Unfortunately the behavour of the DJ FX list and the Video-SL Effect list are different. In the current version of Video-SL it is not possible to assign an absolute MIDI value to a specific video effect in the Video-SL effect list.
However this has been changed in a future release of Video-SL ( Serato Video ) and such mapping will be possible in Scratch Live.

Let me know if you have any further questions regarding Video-SL.

So it's fixed when Serato Video drops in March?

Thanks for your help then.
