Thinking about getting custom knobs for the library scroll and loops/rolls.
In a dark club, sometimes I mix them up.
Ideally, I'd get a yellow one for the left library scroll and a blue one for the right.
Then light grey or similar for the loop knobs. Obviously the knobs need to work with the push function.
Also, Id like the loop knob to feature the 12 o'clock marker, similar to the mic eq knobs.
Here comes the tip (works for REL and INT modes):
1. Fit knobs with 12 o'clock marker for the loops.
2. Turn loop knob anti-clockwise one and a half rev (rounds), until facing "west"/ 9 o'clock.
(the lowest loop/roll setting will now be selected)
3. Turn loop knob clockwise until facing north/12 o'clock
(one bar loop/roll setting will now be selected)
4. From this position clockwise "one click" turn will double the loop, while anti clockwise it will half the loop.
I know, fairly obvious right? But the beauty of it, you no longer need to check the screen for loop length, its right on the mixer. Less "screen stare" is always a good thing IMO.
Initially did this with my HC1000S midi controller, and this should work with any click rotary midi controller. Have a Traktor Control X1 with SSL overlay at home too, will double check to see if this "hack" works with it. Will post photos once I get the camera out.
Now, back to the original question, can anyone recommend a few good knobs for the 68 as described? I might go with the chroma's from DJTech tools, even better though would be having "native" ones from Rane I guess.
Thanks, Warp
