basically the pitch fader is extremely slow in responding with the actual serato program thats one of the problems idk if this is just normal though.....the other problem is that my left deck in serato will start to runaway after about 5-10 minutes of use and i can't control it anymore with my cdj

Hey sfsknight65,
Q: First step will be to see if you have the same problem with audio CD's. Then we can start looking at Serato Scratch Live issues troubleshooting.
As for the deck running away, make sure that the CD on left channel hasn't counted down 15 minutes; as when the controller track on the CD runs out it will set Serato into internal mode which will no longer be controlled by CDJ. Is this what maybe happening?
Please let me know how you go with audio CD test. :)
Regards

hey thanks for the help i got them hooked up in HID mode now.....got great response on the computer as for the cdjs they are really laggy which is a problem I've seen with a lot of ppl using the pioneer cdjs around here not a big deal though as long as that lag doesn't hurt the cdjs

Hey sfssknight65,
This maybe a Buffer size issue. Have a look at this link
serato.com
This is a good place for us to start to get this lag issue sorted. As for the CDJ's they will be fine.

Hey sfsknights,
Still need to know two things... Does the lag happen with normal CD's? Also what is your Buffer size set at now?
I'm unsure whether it is a HID issue as you experienced this with Control Cd's also. Let's just work on the NoiseMap™ issue first as HID mode acts as a controller mode which is different than NoiseMap™.

No I'm not using time codes I'm using HID mode right now. I don't plan on using the time codes anymore bc from what I've seen u can do a lot more with the cdjs in HID mode then with timecodes. When I'm in HID mode the jog wheel readout on the cdj is really laggy is what I'm trying to say. Btw the buffer size I'm using is 10
Thanks for the help!!

Yeah sure we can get to HID mode. However for testing purposes we need to work through getting the Control CD's to work first. If we're in HID mode trying to find issue, we are neglecting many more variables. If we start back at the simple stuff we are much more likely to get this sorted.
So if you can tell me are you using a USB hub?
Also lets try going back to the basics, run Serato Scratch Live normally using Control CD's and see if you have any issues with lagging. Make sure you are not using a USB hub. We can also try moving up your Buffer size to 20. See how it goes.

i tried the time codes again there wasn't any problems with lag or anything and I'm not using a usb hub for the serato box that one goes straight out of the computer......but i use one for the cdjs in HID mode bc I'm using a mac and unfortunately they only got to usb outputs

I raised the buffer size to 20 in HID mode still the sane result btw lot of lag on the jog wheel

It looks like the problem is with the information between the Mac and the CDJ. What we need to test next is to see if the USB hub is the issue.
Try this: Plugging directly into the MAC USB port, connect your Serato Box and run just one of your CDJ's into Laptop directly run it in HID mode. See if the lag it still there.
If it's not we know that it is the USB Hub which is the issue. You can try different Hub's also make sure you have one that is power if you don't that could also be a factor :)

Same thing when i hooked the cdj up to the computer instead of the usb hub. There's still a lot of lag on the jog wheel. The usb hub i have is powered btw

O.k good to know.
Q: Can you clarify what you mean by lagging? Is it the jog wheel not scratching with Serato Scratch Live in sync? Can you explain exactly whats happening?
I'll also get you to optimize your system. serato.com

Scratching mixing everything is fine. Its the readouts on the cdj like the time and the circle that spins inside the jog wheel that are really laggy.

By laggy i mean also that the jog wheel readout and the time dont flow in a normal fluent motion like you would have when running normal cds, they are real sporadic. The jog wheel readout freezes in a place for a second then it goes to another position. It will be at 1 o clock and then it will be at 6 o clock and so on

Hey Sfsknights65
We have reproduced this issue today and we have logged it as a bug. Looks like it was logged with Beta last year but fell through the cracks, we've brought it to there attention again.
