Hi , im using an i5 processor , windows 7 64 bit, toshiba satellite pro 850 to run serato sl1 and after inital set-up issues managed to get it working properly. I have just got a Vestax 07 pro mixer and was trying out the new mixer , when the sound stopped outputting on both channels. On the software screen, the control vinyl still moves as per the actual deck's movement but no sound is outputted. If I change the mixer to phono scource, I can still hear the control signal as usual on both channels. I have had this happen to me yesterday too, restarting program seems to solve the problem, when i reload the tracks they work fine. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I am having this problem as well with 2.3.1. So far it has happened twice when using video files.

You are having the known issue related to USB 1.1 devices (SL 1 & TTM 57) when used on a PC computer that has an I series processor. This issue has been around for two years and there is no fix for the problem. We know the answer but having it put into place is reliant upon Microsoft. Apple fixed this issue years ago.
To confirm this as the case, try a different computer, one without an I series processor.

I'm having the same issue again, after not getting it for over a year... I figured it was resolved, now It happened again 3 times in one night and once 2 days before that. The only new thing I did was change my hard drive about a week before this started happening again. Could it be something in the settings that I had tweaked that has no reset again with the new hard drive? There has to be some fix i'm sure 1000s of djs have PCs with i processors that they use on a regular basis.

There is a fix. We've proven this by Apple putting it into place and resolving this issue on Mac computers. We provided Microsoft with the same fix. Two years later and we have slowly figured out that they are not going to use the fix. It remains where it always has, not recommended.

I definitely can not speak to their decisions or motives but one thing that stands out at me is that there is no financial incentive for them to do so. We are not the only program effected but it is (in their eyes [assuming here]) only a small percentage of overall users who are effected. As you can tell, this is where we would vary in opinions.

That's ridiculous. So I take it it's not a simple/cheap fix. What does it involve just out of curiosity.
Btw, I just upgraded my BIOS from on my HP, I had read that doing this may be a fix, is that still true?

BIOS update worked for maybe 10% of the people but thats enough to still mention it.
I'm not a developer and usually none of that stuff is easy. Only Microsoft really knows what it would take to impliment. We've started help tickets, others have started help tickets with Microsoft. They know but don't feel a need to fix it. I wish it was in our control.

lol. Please note that the Sl 2, Sl 3, Sl 4, Sixty-One, Sixty-Two and Sixty-Eight do not have the same problem on a PC with an i series processor. They are all USB 2.0 devices which gtes around the problem.

Yeah unfortunately the mixer they have at work is a 57 and the box I have is a SL1 but I will probably try to trade up for a SL2 or 3. Thanks for your help.

You can always plug an SL2/3/4 into the 57 at your work if you need to.

Just to get back on this issue. Initally when trying to set up on this laptop , i got the error message says usb port is not working. called tech support who checked drivers etc and diagnosed a hardware issue. Then i brought to my friend who is music producer and knows his stuff, he started it up , and it worked no bother first time, i presumed i was doing somehing wrong. Then serato worked for a few weeks perfectly. Then i got the two crashes where the control vinyl is moving but the soundwave is just a line. Presumed this wud be the worst of it. Now today trying again, and it says usb port i choose not working. It lights up box for few seconds and dies....... just want to confirm that it is the bios issue and not my stinking toshiba laptop :-( thanks.

You are trying to fix the unfixable. More power to ya but this is not something we can continue to trouble shoot. Try it on a computer without an i series processor, if you have the same issues let me know.
