hey guys, this might be my first post so let me introduce myself.my name is craig and i play bass music : ). i wanted to get your opinions on my setup. i recently moved into a very small studio apt and its time to make some changes. i was playing with 2 cdj's 1000's, pioneer djm500 mixer, serato sl3, and traktor kontrol x-1 for seratos effects and looping.
ive already ditched one of the cdjs and use the instant doubles feature. im thinking of selling the pioneer mixer and sl3 and getting a ttm57sl or possibly the new sixty or one sixty two.
i guess my main concern isnt really the mixer as much as the effects. i love the kontrol x-1 when it works ( ive showed up to 2 gigs and the thing didnt work.very frustrating) so im thinking if i had the ttm i could control the effects with that and my setup would have a way smaller footprint too. but it seems kind of confusing to use the fx on the ttm. does anyone have a similar setup, or any advice about controlling effects? or what you have done to simplify your rig. thanks in advance!

I think the X1s are great for the FX. The VFX-1 is also a good one.
You can control the software effects from the TTM57 but its not as intuitive.
There aren't many controls you can assign the software effects to on the 62.
The mic section is about it.
If I were you I'd figure out the issue with your X1s and pick up the 62 (best two channel battle mixer ever). Control everything from the mixer except the DJ FX.

Yes.. I'm a big fan of the X1.
Usually, if there is an issue with a midi controller in SSL its because the autosave.xml file located in your Midi folder within the _Serato_ folder on your internal drive is bunged up.
To remedy this.. simply shut down SSL, delete that file, and re-open SSL.
