Running DMX Software and Video SL at the same time/same computer

Is anyone out there running a DMX Light control software along with Serato /VSL or ME. I am just curious if this will bog down the system. I am running a Mac Book Pro 13" 500gig i7 shared graphics. I am looking at buying some DMX controllable soft ware but dont have the money right now to buy another Mac Book Pro. Thanks in Advance

i run on dmx software on a pc. i have in a pinch ran ssl and freestyler on the same pc and i had no problems. cpu usage was normal as was memory.

i think for a mac your biggest problem would be finding decent dmx software that won't break the bank. not sure if you picked one out yet, but cuelux is what i've seen most mac uses using.

Man, never heard of cuelux, just got hip to Freestyler was using my wifes laptop though.

I have been running elation compuware on mine for years with serato and VSL, no issues

Is there a lighting program thats out there that will allow you to program diffrent lighting functions to specific beats in a song like the high hat etc. I was thinking of something that will allow you to match color flashes to the bass drum or high Hat of a song. I wish Serato had something like this hint hint 2.0.

freestyler has the sound 2 light plugin.

the sequence restarter will set selected sequences to step 1 on every beat. the beat flash will set selected buttons to flash on every beat. you can also jump next step, send random dmx value, pan/tilt fade or blackout if no sound.

sequence restarter and beat flash will do what you want.
