this hard drive called "search".

it's been discussed many times. everyone has different opinions.

most would say g-tech. good luck.

it's always the one you think you should've bought instead of the one you got

there is no largest/fastest.
the fastest drives do not come in the largest size and largest drives are not the fastest.

i use 15000 rpm for gaming. the largest i have seen is 600GBs.
have no idea if it is faster than ssd or intellipower.

g-tech 3tb 7200 rpm model

it's got the hitachi drive inside, which is the best of the 3tb

it's got FW800, USB2.0 and eSata + an Oxford chipset, and a fanless case

and right now it is cheaper than buying a bare bones 3tb drive due to the Thailand floods and resulting hard drive price increases

Seagate makes a usb 3.0 4tb drive
www.seagate.com

or the lacie thunderbolt drive. (the one i'm saving up for.

why kind of system you have would help.

and if you go the firewire route make sure the drive is at least 7200rpm. you need the speed for videos.

right now im useing this guy and it works great. dont buy the cheaper PC version its only got 5400rpm drives.

and lastly build your own drive. buy a super fast 15000rpm drive and enclosed.

Note none of these drive are small or be classified as "portable". Its just something you got to deal with if you want speed and capacity.
