Hi, I have just started using my HC5000 with ITCH 2.0 and have come across some "issues". I'm hoping that this isn't normal behaviour otherwise I am at a loss as to why it has been configured like this. Here are my various issues :-

1. Tapping the SYNC button turns on the SYNC feature and lights up the Auto Tempo LED. That's great - but shouldn't pressing it again turn it off? The only way to turn it off is to choose OFF on ITCH.
2. While SYNC is on, the HC5000 doesn't show the rate on it's display e.g. Plus or minus a certain percentage - this displays fine with the SYNC feature off.
3. Pressing the KEY ADJ button works fine - but a long press on the HC5000 should change the pitch range - this doesn't happen.

I've noticed these after playing with it for only half an hour. I guess I've noticed this because I also have a Denon HC4500 which behaves properly with other software.

Are these bugs?

no, shift+sync on the denon turns it off.

i guess you mean the pitch %.
that's a bug in 2.0.x and is fixed in 2.1 (only beta so far)

no, shift+key changes the range.

your hc5000 is perfectly fine you just need to read the manual

I appreciate your responses apart from the "read the manual" line. As a programmer myself I know that taking customer comments seriously is the most important aspect of development. Unless, of course, you can tell me where the bug that I reported is located in the manual? I'll certainly be keeping any other bugs I find quiet from now on.

The only reason I had the other questions is because I'm used to a long press to change certain functions and it just never occurred to me to use another button (shift) so apologies for that. My Denon manual from my other deck refers to the long dash -- as a long press so I assumed it was the same.

As a side note - as the sync can only either be on or off (as far as I know), why do users need to use the SHIFT key to turn it off? I just thought that having it configured so that it does absolutely nothing when it is pressed a second time is a waste.

Wait, hold on, am I missing something here? Did you return your unit?

Or did ITCH 2.1 provide solution?
djmattc 10:28 PM - 5 January, 2012
