Setup for recording

Hey,
i got a question. How i must setup up my home set to: record my vsl mix on a second imac. I got a macbook pro where i use vsl. I got a monitor to look the video. And now i would record the video with music on my second Imac. Can i do that and what i need for this.
The problem is that my macbook pro needs to many power for recording and playing vsl. I use Ishowu for recording. Specs: MacBook Pro 2,53 Intel Duo, 8Gb RAM and Lion, may Imac: 3,06 GHZ Intel Duo and 12Gb RAM both on Lion.
Or are my settings for VSL bad??

Is mix emergeny a Plug in for serato? Doesn't it takes more resources feom my MacBook pro?

Kid cut. ME is a plug in for Mac only. it records with no extra stress on you MAC. AND IT ACTUALLY USES LESS RESOURCES THEN VSL. or you can use Screenflow to record your video mix. Either or, both uses less resources the VSL

What he said... And I have "recorded" many 4 - 5 hours gigs with screenflow...no lag or issues I imagine M.e. will do the same but better because of the way it "records"

btw Kid to answer a couple of your direct questions;
your mac is just fine for vsl and mix emergency.
i have no idea how you will use a second mac to record video but i will guess that you need a video capture device.
running vsl and ishowu may be a little much for your mbp but you can probably still work it out. optimize the mbp to run better, make sure you have no heat issues or try running smc fan control, lower your vsl output settings.
